Our detached "Squirrels Nest" area offers a wide range of flexible uses - including a ping pong / pool table, arcade game machines, TV with wifi streaming options, a large sectional, mini fridge, and family games. Open the doors WIDE to the outside to breath in the fresh Bay air. Permit # 2025-44 The Space: Sleeping Arrangements: 1 Queen (main floor bedroom) 1 Queen bed (upstairs bedroom 2) 2 Twin/single beds (upstairs bedroom 3) Guest Access: The entire home & bonus room The Neighborhood: Located on the popular M22 scenic highway! Perfect for a lazy Sunday drive or a site-seeing trip, M22 is 116.7 miles long and follows the Lake Michigan shoreline of the Leelanau Peninsula, making up a portion of the Lake Michigan Circle Tour. It also passes through the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Beautiful views and fun destinations along the way! Getting Around: You will need a vehicle to get around. It is 10 minutes to downtown Traverse City and 15 minutes to Sutton's Bay. Other Things to Note: Elmwood Permit number 2025-44 \*\*Home has exterior flood cameras for safety purposes\*\* \*\*No Parties Allowed\*\* \*\*No smoking inside the home or squirrel's nest\*\* \- This is a strictly non-smoking property, including all indoor and outdoor areas. The view of the water is awesome from our place, but we do not own the rights to the shore line. Please respect our neighbors by not trespassing at the water’s edge or on the docks in front of our home. We do have great beaches just down the road. We ask that when coming up from the beach that you rinse your feet and please enter the house through the back entrance. \*\*Please again note: We do NOT have access to the shore line with our property. The beach across the street is private property and trespassers will be ticketed. We do have beaches very close, including the popular beaches at Elmwood Park, Roadside Park & Beach M-22, just north of Cherry Bend Drive and the West End beach in Traverse City. Check-In: Is at 4pm (Early Check-in is not possible due to our cleaning crew needing to complete their work) Check-Out: Is at 10am (We are unable to accommodate late check-out, our cleaning service will arrive at the house promptly at 10 AM.) \*Please note when booking you will incur the following charges under Required Fees: \- Processing Fee: 3% \- Cleaning Fee: $325 Interaction with Guests: Guests will be able to reach out at any point with questions or concerns via call, or Airbnb. We strive to be readily available to all guests. Travel Advisory: Local Road Construction Please note that there is ongoing road construction on Grandview Parkway between Division Street and Cherry Bend Road, which may result in slightly longer travel times to and from downtown Traverse City from your location. Clean, comfortable and well furnished, the house provided a truly "home away from home" environment for relaxing. The most significant advantage was the Squirrel Nest. This game room area provided every member of our family both young and old, an unbelievable place to gather. Its availability of ping pong, video games, table games, and television in such a comfortable setting quickly became extremely popular with every member of the family. My son broke his arm 2 days prior. My son and husband could not come due to the nature of break that may need surgery. There is no way my whole group of 4 could've stayed comfortably, even though there are 6 places to sleep. The house is very tight. There are no closets. No dishwasher and only 1 bathroom. We liked the location, but M22 is a very well traveled, noisy road that does not quiet down much at night. For 2 females staying alone, it would have felt safer having an indoor lock on back door, as screen door does not shut properly. We appreciated the charm of the house. Both were well stocked with supplies and the bonfire pit with wood provided was an awesome way to spend the night relaxing under the stars. The squirrels nest was where we spent most of our time and it came in handy on one of our days where the weather wasn't ideal. The house is on a main road so there were cars driving by that interrupted the peaceful time around the bonfire but it caused no issues or disturbances in the house at night when trying to sleep. The address posted on VRBO's site was not accurate for us; read the details of the check-in email you receive for the correct address to input into your GPS. ##### Matt W. This was the ideal place for my Fiancé’s 30th bday weekend. The squirrel’s nest and fire pit made for some great times playing ping pong and enjoying one another’s company right by the bay (what a view)! One thing I have to say the host does an amazing job of fully stocking the house. Literally everything you might need is at the house! Very nice to have. Thank you for keeping everything so clean and stocked. We absolutely loved and fully utilized the house, fire pit, porch, and Squirrel’s Nest equally throughout our 3-night stay. We had a fantastic weekend at the Squirrel's nest! Everything was clean and organized and the view was beautiful. You literally only need to bring clothes and food - everything else was provided!
