Shopping is a given. One thing to know about The Scotsman: there are stairs. The lift is in the process of repair so there are lots of stairs. But that being said: staff will help with all of it. The Abbey was under renovation at the time but most of it was open. If you are staying in Oban you can book at the ferry terminal which includes a ferry to Mull, shuttle across Mull to the harbour to meet the tour boat. Remember to pack a lunch. Words cannot describe the experience of having a few hours seeing these beautiful birds so close up and so many. The photo shows one looking up watching a seagull glide across the cliff top. There are also fulmars and razorbills.
