We only stayed for one night but will stay for longer next time we visit. The hotel arranged a shuttle to fetch us from the train station and got us checked in in time to make our dinner reservation that night. The seasonal ingredient of the region (tajima beef in the summer and for us it was snow crabs during the winter) is showcased in their kaiseki dinner. Highly recommend spending the extra money for this incredible experience put on by some very talented chefs. The crab dishes kept coming in different preparations and flavors that, to us travelers, showed off the local palette and gave us a memorable dining experience. The town is wonderful, very tourist friendly and all the hot springs are within walking distance.
