This stunningly renovated house sits all on ground floor level and is located right above the coastline in the peaceful village of Downderry—ideal for a special getaway. Offering expansive open plan living with contemporary styling, including a triptych log burner in the centre of the space and a piano for musical guests, enjoy a holiday retreat in luxury, with the sound of the waves just outside. The house can accommodate up to 4 adults, with two in each double bedroom. The bunk room can sleep up to 4 younger children (or two over the age of 10), as one bunk is a full single size and the other is a smaller single. Or this room could be suitable for 1 adult. Please inquire for more details. The main family bathroom is generously sized and fully tiled, featuring a freestanding deep-soak tub for a touch of refined luxury. The kitchen facilities are excellent, with everything you'd expect, including two ovens and plenty of kitchen gadgets. As well as the interior dining table, which seats up to six, there is also plenty of space to dine al fresco, with a bistro table for two on the patio and a larger table seating six on the lawn below. Located between Torpoint and Looe, guests will be within walking distance of a café, restaurant, and pub, as well as the beach! With Downderry Beach and village less than a quarter of a mile to the east, and Seaton Beach and valley less than a mile to the west, there are plenty of beautiful coastal walks straight from the door. Within easy reach by car is the Rame Peninsula, or "Forgotten Cornwall"—a lovely area to explore and often much quieter than the rest of the county, even in high summer. The historic fishing town of Looe is just a short drive away, along with the stunning Fowey estuary, the picturesque cove of Polperro, and many other attractions. The photos do not do it justice. Ideal location to explore parts of Cornwall. If you do not want to eat in, there is somewhere to walk and eat just 5 minutes up the roadif you go the other way it’s just a little bit further, either by roaddrop down to the beach and walk, there’s another little place with a cafe and pub to eat. Dog friendly beach below you. Absolutely amazing property with wonderful edge of the ocean views, delightful private outdoor space and equipped with everything necessary to make it a home from home. The large open plan dining / lounge area meant that we enjoyed evenings together as a family and the dog loved the space too. The owner was very helpful and friendly prior to arrival with information about local areas of interest and was so kind on departure when she allowed us an extended stay to sort out an issue with our onward travel arrangements. The property makes a wonderful base for exploring Cornwall. The facilities at Avalon are perfect, the owner provides all required for a self catering holiday. All rooms are very tastefully furnished, Sky TV on tap. Views from the garden are glorious. Local area has a choice Restaurants there is a lovely sandy beach for early morning, and evening strolls. If its peace, and quiet you want Downderry is the Perfect location. 🥰 Nothing!
