By day it's just another narrow alleyway common in Tokyo, but at night the street turns into a mini nightlife area for the salarymen of Tokyo. With numerous tiny #bar lining up, the nickname comes from the fact in the past so many drunk salarymen doing their "bussiness" there because there's no toilet anywhere in this alleyway. Today, regulation has been set in the area so it is a lot cleaner than before. The alleyway is very narrow and can only fit at maximum 2 people at a time so be mindful of your surrounding when visiting especially when there's many drunk people walking by from the bars. The bars are also very tiny and can only fit less than 10 people at a time. It is one of a large chain of "love hotels", and so designed for amorous couples who come in with no baggage, needing only bathroom and beauty supplies, which the hotel offers in great variety. For travelers there is no room to open a suitcase or set a laptop on a desk. Not all rooms have a real bathroom; mine has a toilet room, tiny shower closet, and a sink in the entryway. This hotel by far had the most amenities of any hotel I stayed at in Japan, then entire time. They have everything you’ll need whether you’re staying one day or 10\. The location is very accessible as well, there’s basically a subway station just steps from the hotel and there’s several convenience stores just feet away. Our room was dark and cramped with dust coating the blinds of the only window (which was covered by a TV). The air conditioner was loud during the night and the bed consisted of a thin mattress covered with a thin sheet of plastic and a small sheet with small pillows. Probably the most concerning factors were that the hotel gave a clear warning on the cleaning card about security not being guaranteed (the elevator does not require that you use a keycard to access your floor). Also, the price listed by Expedia was considerably more than that listed at the hotel. Two prices were listed at the hotel; one for ‘stay’ and one for ‘rest’ which indicates that more than rest is offered by this hotel. The staff were pleasant at the front counter which was the only redeeming fact about the hotel.
