The hotel feels new and modern inside, even though it’s set in such a historic area. My room was spacious, very clean, and had a comfortable bed, a sofa bed, and a modern bathroom. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet (18 euros) was excellent — plenty of choice and good quality. I was also able to park just outside the city gate, about 200 meters from the hotel, for €6.50 overnight and then I had the perfect parking spot for the next day, which was very convenient. It was the perfect place to stay for one night so I could enjoy Rocamadour early in the morning before the tourists arrived. The only small downside was the hair dryer — one of those typical weak hotel ones that take forever to dry your hair. Also, the town is very quiet after 7 p.m. (I was there on a Wednesday in late October), with most places closed, including restaurants. Even though the hotel’s restaurant is open, the kitchen closes at 8:30 p.m., and there weren’t many people around, so the atmosphere felt a bit dull. I ended up having dinner at the restaurant just outside the city gate, which was the only lively place that evening.
