The cabin is outfitted well; comfortable bed, clean shower, plenty of hot water, and a great air conditioner. A common kitchen is provided for guests and is more than I expected...well stocked and outfitted. The scenery in this area is amazing. I don't know what the puma population is, but I was fortunate enough to see one about 40 miles south of the ranch. The ranch is a good location if you want to visit Marfa, Alpine Fort Davis and the Big Bend National Park. The food in the Terlingua/Study Butte eateries is great, and the restaurants are staffed with friendly people providing fast service. I had a cell phone camera but will be bringing a SLR or two when I visit again in late fall or winter. It was an outstanding and unique experience. Checking in and check out was organized and the charm of Old West town was apparent. Note that the Ranch is 2 miles off the main highway on a County Road but that wasn’t much of a problem. The sunsets and stars were unbelievable and a trip up to the Apache Cave was not something you would find at a Holiday Inn. Great little cabins setup like an old west town. Nestled in the mountains north of terlingua, complete with a shared use kitchen and dining area. Outside you are surrounded by mountains and the sunset was amazing. Truly a dark sky property the stars where truly amazing. We sat around the fire pits and met new folks as well. Awesome place. The only downside was that there was moldy muffins in the cantina, but we didn’t eat there other than that so it was fine. Also a heads up that it’s about a ten minute drive on a dirt/gravel road so if you have a sedan like we do, you’ll have to drive slowly! ##### Samantha M. This off grid location is the perfect setting to disconnect and just look up at night and spend the day discovering or going to Big Bend. The rooms are perfect and being in the middle of the desert, they have done phenomenal job of not taking away from the natural beauty of the desert while also making it feel like you're in an old western town. ##### Philip N. We were lucky for two cloudless nights during the Geminid meteor shower! This was exactly what we were looking for on this visit to BB. If you are looking for a place to disconnect and get off grid, and still have a comfy place to sleep and stay cool, then this is a great place. As always the house was very clean and had all I needed from a small fridge, microwave, satellite TV, and internet. Always leave happy and feeling refreshed after spending the nights with amazing views and the sky both day and night. Very happy and highly recommend ##### Philip N. The room was clean and decorated marvelously. We loved the joint Cantina where we dined alone and with an others. We hiked the hillside and my husband dubbed a spot Window Rock due to the square hole through it. We will recommend and be back ourselves the next time we come south. Thank you XBits. This hidden gem is truly a mix of convenience and comfort. It is in the perfect spot where you are away from the main road but still feel like you are part of a community. We used the kitchen many times as it is an amazing space! The spot to grill is also very cool! We tried out the shooting range which isn’t far from the main property. Ten Bits is the perfect getaway especially if it’s your first time visiting big bend. The National Park and cute, quaint ghost town are both short drives.making it perfect for your itinerary. We came in when it was dark and left to head to Big Bend at first light. We didn’t utilize all the amenities on offer. I can say that I loved the rustic western town theme of this ranch. It was very quiet and dark which just added to the rustic feel. My only complaint, and not really sure if I can call it that due to the setting, was that the room was really dusty. We dropped a suitcase on the rug and it poofed up with dirt. You could feel the dirt on the floors. Now again, I’m not sure how you avoid this given the dirt roads and desert setting but the dust was caked on all the fixtures pretty heavily. Such a unique place with great atmosphere, great remote location and comfortable accommodations. Everything was clean, well maintained and well equipped. We stayed in the Gun Shop which does have the adjoining room, but it was well insulated from the neighboring room and we never heard anything. It is remote and the closest town does not have a lot for groceries so I recommend bringing food if you plan to cook at the ranch. It is rustic, looks like a small "old west mining town," and very remote. Although you are "out in the boonies" they have WiFi, a very nice communal kitchen, and acres of wilderness for hiking. The sunsets from our porch were spectacular! I very highly recommend XB, but they are about 2 miles of rough caliche road from the highway. I would suggest a 4x4 with good ground clearance, and bring plenty of water and food. If I live long enough we will be back! ##### Lonnie h.
