The Beachsider is a cosy Lockwood holiday home with a warm, sunny atmosphere, and a toasty wood burner for winter. It’s been the site of many legendary family memories and great times with friends. Comfy and homely, it’s the perfect escape for the family on holiday, we even welcome the dog. The indoor open-plan living is great for that holiday vibe, and with sheltered decks on both sides of the house, you can choose your sunny spot to soak up the atmosphere outside. Te Horo beach is dramatic and exciting, at times a large sandy expanse, at others a stormy stony rise. It’s safe for swimming, boating or surfing, or for long walks in either direction. To the south is Peka Peka and beyond, or head northwards to the Otaki River. Located about an hour from Wellington it’s a handy 15-minute drive to either Otaki or Waikanae and Paraparaumu. If you’re here for the weekend, make sure you visit the famous Bus Stop Café an easy 20-minute stroll from The Beachsider down Sims Road. The Beachsider is the perfect escape from city life, you won’t want to leave Please note that the bunk beds are only suitable for children to use.As the property has unfenced access to the beach, adults should closely supervise young children while outside to ensure they are safe around water.Please note a bond may be charged at certain times of the year. Unfortunately it was not ready at the arranged time - had not even been cleaned from the previous people and the numbers I had confirmed had not been relayed to the property manager. Fortunately she had extra linen on board and my sister helped her get the place ready. I arrived later on. There was no soap for the shower and no dishwashing liquid. The dining room table was unusable and the outside door handles onto the deck kept falling off. Small ant infestation in the kitchen is just a beach thing, we could live with that. Outdoor light not working. The bed was surprisingly good next to everything else. Sorry to give a negative review.
