The whole thing was set up on a portable frame that had no struts across the middle. The mattress and box spring were only supported around the perimeter, so everything sagged towards the center of the bed. I asked for extra blankets and tried to fill in the depression, which helped somewhat. I took photos and sent them, with an explanation of the problem, to the host, who said the mattress was less than a year old but that the owner was going to buy a new mattress - however, without a better frame, the same thing will happen in no time. Besides dealing with our stiff backs, we enjoyed our stay here. The back gate was especially charming. ##### karen b.
