Jun 6, 2025 #### Paradise Wow, what a place! The Island House could not be more perfectly set-up. The host, concierge, and staff were incredibly helpful before, during, and after our stay. The Hacienda Pinilla complex offers great amenities, so you do not have to leave the property. However, the house is situated between Tamarindo and Avellanas, so it's a great location. Prior to the trip communication with Mergie, the manager's assistant, was great! She really came through with helping to purchase and set up birthday decorations and transportation for my group. We absolutely loved it. After our second day there, we started having issues with our wifi. A bit annoying but not a big problem, as we hadn't travelled all the way to CR to live on our phones. Also, one of the showers in the main master wasn't working, but once again, no big deal. We sent our reports to Mergie and enjoyed our vacation. The villa is even more beautiful in person I might add. We had a really great time! We heard some howler monkeys some mornings, and it was such a cool experience. Though I must say they did not come close enough to the house for us to panic. On another note, there was an issue brought up to us by Joel after we left and returned home, but I won't get into that. Paola the housekeeper was amazing! Truly loved her kindness and helpfulness towards our group. I'd give the stay an overall 6/10\. This is only due to those issues we had while there and our interaction with the manager after we left. The home itself gets a 10/10 for me! I wouldn't return, but I had an amazing time, truly. ##### Kenya S.
