We have stayed here many times. This is our go-to in the Blue Mountains ..every time. If you love old world charm, great service and ambience, you can't go past this place. It is just gorgeous, everything about it. It is getting worn out. You have to battle the lift to get on it, the floors and stairs creak ominously. We booked dinner reservations for their lovely dining room but they were not necessary-only 6 other people were seated/eating while we were there. The location may have something to do with this. It is my understanding that Katoomba was once a lovely town, but it also has seen better days. Buffet Breakfast very minimal for $30 p/p and wanted to charge an extra $5 to cook fried eggs! Also the breakfast staff need to smile, they looked miserable. Wonderful stay at Carrington Hotel, regrettable only for 1 night. A special treat for myself and granddaughter. I came in late 1990's and it was almost derelict - wonderful to see it restored to it's former glory. Everything was perfect, ambience of public areas also made it memorable.
