Top location. Apartment itself was worn out. Kitchen cabinets and oven fell apart, carpet looks dirty and bathroom requires an update. Small renovation this apartment would improve the ratings significantly.

No check-in facilities - no idea what was going on or where we were staying. The apartment should be in a museum dedicated to architecture and finishes of the '70s.....the photos in no way showed that.

Unfortunately I haven’t seen an apartment this dirty. It started as soon as we opened the door. The carpet condition was awful and there was a dirty mop smell. The bathroom was dirty, the kitchen was dirty, the balcony had a lot of mould. I bought anti bacterial wipes and wiped down all surfaces. We had dirty, wet towels rolled up and put back on the beds, these were replaced the following morning after I made contact. On arrival I found an ‘out of order’ piece of paper attached to the oven, I did receive a slight reimbursement for this inconvenience after I was told ‘you have a microwave and stove top, you can still cook’. There was a dishwasher with no dishwasher detergent / tablets. There was no dishwashing liquid or cloth, only a scourer and assuming hand wash in the kitchen. Leaky bath tap and broken shower head reported, along with general condition. I would have changed accommodation immediately if I could afford about $2000 to move for the duration of our stay! The only positive was the location. We could walk everywhere and public transport was close by if needed. Won’t be using this provider again.

The apartment was old and dated, and not very clean. Walls were dirty, carpets and rugs very stained. Kitchen grubby and floor sticky. In the bathroom the toilet had no lid and the floor and tiles were grimy. On the balcony there was water leaking and a large area of mould. Beds very uncomfortable. In an excellent location though, can’t fault that. We would not stay here again.

this property was unfit for my family. we are not fussy but this room was unacceptable. the foldout couch had a strong urine smell, the kitchen was dirty with cupboards showing grime, sink was held together with duct tape. The bath was cracked and rusty. Carpets were not clean. overall this was a very shabby room. i would not reccomend this to a family or anyone one with even low standards. we did not stay longer than 1 hr and were booked for 6 nights. When i spoke directly to the property manager, he was rude and unapologetic stating no refunds. we promptly booked another hotel which was what you would expect. I cannot understand that this room can be rented at this level of cleanlyness. overall a horrible room and horrible service. happy to discuss with anyone about this.

Not recommend to stay there
The apartments are old and not like the pictures. Lots of fixtures broken and only very surface cleaning. The lobby reception is not really the point of contact and you have to constantly ring an offsite manager which housekeeping matters are just either delayed or not done. Only good thing is location and small pool and gyn above.

I will not recommend staying there
The apartment is managed by individually and not by the main reception. Anything you need, you have to phone an offsite person in charge which is frustrating, easily forgotten or not done. The apartment is old and the photos are outdated and not reflective. The good thing about the place is the location, there is a nice gym and small pool above on the roof of the building.

Thanks for your comments Wei. I can see confusion. There are 200 apartments in this building. Each apartment is privately owned. All apartment owners contract with the reception company to provide concierge services to all their guests. Wei seems to wish our apartments were a hotel, but they are not, they are vacation rental apartments. Please note this is made clear in our name , Paxsafe Hyde Park Private Apartments. Any apartments used as hotel rooms within the complex only sleep 2 guests, where as our apartments sleep 5 at a much lower nightly rate. The Concierge provides Concierge services but of course not housekeeping. We manage housekeeping and guest requests. . I hope this helps Wei understand.

The property is in a secure building and at a great location for exploring the city of Sydney. The bathroom was very clean and the beds were also comfortable. On the down side, the apartment felt a bit grubby and tired. Stains on carpet; kitchen cabinetry didnt close very well. Pool, spa on roof top was a bonus however.

Great apartment. So close to Hyde Park, Oxford St. and supermarket. Has beautiful view of the city from the balcony. Self contained kitchen so cooking is easy. Excellent communication from owners. Can’t wait to stay here again!

2 towels for 3 ppl for 3 nights, most kitchen cupboards on broken hinges, no dishcloth, rusty stovetop, central controlled AC. Swimming pool and gym closed fir renovation in summer. Location was its only saving grace.

Very disappointing - the property condition is so poor it should not be listed on Hotels.com. The overall condition and cleanliness is not up to standard. The pool was closed for renovations- which we weren’t advised of when booking.

$160 CLEANING FEE Even for a single night, its a standard charge charged at the start. I had seen something in another review about a extended cleaning fee but I assumed that these people must have made an extended mess. You will pay an extra $160 at booking time regardless of length. Also, my girlfriend left swimwear in the room. I have left things in hotels many times and always been able to get items back. The cleaners either did not care and chucked them out or kept them. This is a problem, management will need to make sure that cleaners are not untrustworthy or careless. Other than that the place was in a great location with everything needed and all in good condition. Pool is great and yes that location. Had gotten over the $160 fee even.. but yes I spend more than 10% of every year in hotels and never have problems with forgotten items.

The location is amazing, looking at the park views which lead onto the city views. Size - Although the apartment was big enough for two people, the balcony was extremely small and we didn't use it due to this.

Fantastic spot and view, but room very run down and unclean. Carpet didn't look like it was vacuumed and kitchenette was so dirty we had to buy antibacterial wipes and clean it ourselves. Great location but overall dirty feeling of room was a dampener on our stay.

Dear travellers, The carpet was definately well vacumed, and the kitchenette had a thoughrough cleaning by our housekeeping team. None the less we know guest feelings are what counts, and we encourage all guests to call us using the guest phone. We would not hesitate to reclean immediately to comfort the guest if required. The guest booked our most affordable apartment, perhaps a delux apartment would have made them more comfortable.

There were loud thumping noises behind our bed through the wall the whole time and all through the nights. We reported it the first morning but nothing was done and no contact made with us. Most unpleasent. We purchased and used Ear plgs to enable sleep. Our stay was marred because of this. Sorry, we expected better service. A rebate on some of the cost may sooth our ill feelings.

I can only apologise for this, and we take complete responsibility. The water sounds were caused by a fault with the building hydrolics on the floor above. We did call in the complex maintenance manager immediately but the repair took some time. On other occasions we would prefer to move guests to another apartment, if realising they were so uncomfortable.

Nice, spacious apartment!
The apartment is a little outdated but decorated nicely. For the price, location and the amount of space you have in the apartment (inc balcony) I would still recommend the apartment and would happily stay there again. It would have nice been to have tea, tissues, additional coat hangers and toilet paper (we had to go out and buy more!). There was no service.

Location is great, but the sofa bed was broken so one of us had to sleep on an air bed. Lights at the bathroom went out on the second day and we were unable to get in touch with anyone at the hotel when dialled the phone number on the booking confirmation. Kitchen was out of date and there was not heating.

Dear Guests, For accuracy, if a sofa bed is listed on the property's profile, it will be ready to use. Air beds and roll in beds are only offered under special request from a guest. Lights are checked and all ok . The master light switch is by the front door . Our property is not a hotel, but rather, private apartments. All apartments have reverse cycle heating and cooling. Kitchens are fine and ready for your use. We can be contacted using the guest phone located in your apartment. Thank you.

We are not a hotel , we are basically a serviced apartments and are just new in Expedia as they have started to take the vacation rentals in their platform . As our apartment is bit different than the hotel standard rooms , we charge the guests one off apartment preparation and departure cleaning fee as listed on our property profile. Our guests can always request a daily housekeeping if they require for a small fee. We have fixed the balcony door lock . With the $130 cleaning fee requested to be paid before checking in, i would not have expected to find two molded bread loafs in the cupboard.

Apologies as we would not expect that either. In any event, some weeks ago we employed a new housekeeping team, and all apartments receive a 3 hour deap clean prior to occupancy. If guests need our furthervattention please use the guest phone located in the apartment.

Dear guests, when you book with us , the photographs in the property profile are always of the exact apartment you are booking, so please check them. We ensure all cleaning and maintenance is spot on oerfect , but we do mention that this is long standing popular building.

Be caution! Thry don't have free cancellation bookung. Then, they have a high cleaning charge of A$130, but did not mention when you made a booking. Also at the room, TV is no battery in the remote control, dusty coffee maker, noisy air-conditioner, no front desk, no concierge service, need to call but it's hard to have somebody answer. Even if you got someone answered, they just can't help! Really bad service indeed!

The cleaning fee is a Sydney standard, and is also noted on the property profile. Concierge service at the front desk is 24x7. Dear Guests. This review should not really be relied upon as it is quite misleading. For guest convenience, we do invite guests to drop luggage in apartments, up to 4 hours before the official check in time, so they are free to walk in Hyde Park, or have a coffee in the restaurant . Importantly, We always ask guests to understand that when dropping bags , housekeeping preparations will not yet be completed. We do contact guests as soon as housekeeping is complete and everything is perfectly ready. This process pleases most guests.
