It's not too difficult to find if you follow the directions in the Lonely Planet. If you don't have one, take a bus to Paldalmun, then walk along the main road north (five minutes) until you see a small 7-Eleven on the right side. There is a bakery exactly opposite on the left side, turn left at that corner and the hostel is in the building behind. The hostel is clean and spacious and I had a large room. No breakfast was provided, but the wifi was good. The manager was only around in the afternoon and spoke reasonable English. They refused to give a towel to our toddler. By towel, I mean the standard hand towel used as a bath towel typically issued by guest houses in Korea. When we asked for a towel for our daughter we were told children don’t get towels. Is it seriously that big of an extra expense to give a hand towel to a 23 month old? Anyhow, this is the sort of guest service you can expect from Hwaeseong Guest House. Everything else is just fine. Great location. Decent facilities for the price. It’s on the second floor with no elevator.
