One of a kind two bedroom beach bungalow right on the beach, deck with direct ocean views, sandy beach, a tropical ambiance and a family friendly setting that will make you feel like you are in your own private island and where memories are made. The Palm is 1 of 5 secluded bungalows nestled in a 10 acre ocean / beach front paradise. This unique property has close to 1000’ of private sandy beach, 2 docks extending out 450’ from the shore, great for docking your boat, jet ski or enjoying the great fishing action right off our pier. At the heart of our resort is our featured amenity, our newly remodeled grotto style pool inspired by natural Coral coast such as you would find in South Florida. The pool area features 2 pools; a smaller chill pool with a cascading waterfall bench. Our larger pool has a water slide, a waterfall hidden grotto, a swim up bar and a hot tub for those days you need to relax after a great day out fishing. Amenity’s also include complimentary paddle boards, our fitness center, 8 bikes to cruise the island, 2 tiki huts on the beach great for grilling as you feel the ocean breeze, or just soaking it all in on a hammock. Our unique property does have a natural setting beach, meaning that seaweed and debris from the ocean does make its way to our shoreline. Specifically in the hotter months, extreme amounts of seaweed will accumulate on our shoreline and beyond. Also known as biting midges, punkies, sand flies or biting gnats, these flying insects are small enough to fit through the mesh screens of windows and doors. They are also easy to overlook when they swarm around you or land on your skin. No-see-um bites are painful and itchy. \*\*\*\* Must be at least 30 years old to book \*\*\*\* We are committed to the conservation and protection of all our resources. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our efforts. Water is one of our most important life resources. Well landscaped to give privacy to each bungalow. 2 amazing piers to fish/jet ski from. The pool and grill area is a PERFECT place to cool off and escape the heat with the swim up bar. The staff even gave us coconuts to enjoy fresh from their trees. Each day we saw amazing wildlife and even had key deer visit us. We are considering booking the whole place for a family reunion. It is just steps away from the pool oasis where we spent our days relaxing and grilling. We then drove into Key West in the evenings. Very convenient location where you get the best of both worlds of serenity and relaxation, but also close enough to drive into town. The sunrises, and the waterfront and beachfront views are beautiful. We enjoyed the natural setting, felt like we were in our own little paradise. The host Cadmier is amazing and was always available if needed. The relaxing views and peace and quiet in this small gated community really gives you the chance to relax in privacy. The house could use some updating, but the outside is where it really counted for us. We had an issue with the thermostat that was fixed within minutes of contacting the host, they were very responsive and we appreciated it. The "no-see-um" bugs (the size of a flea) do bite and they are not shy. I recommend using a DEET based bug spray if you plan on being outside for extended time as it was the only spray that seemed to work. The bungalow provided everything that was needed… A beachfront and oceanfront oasis was the ultimate for relaxing and reconnecting … The pool was absolutely incredible along with the grills for cooking, water slide for pool entertainment, swim up bar for BYOB drinks and snacks plus the huge TV for entertainment or football watching… but the one thing that made this an AMAZING experience was the HOST!!! He was responsive to my inquiries or texts within mere MINUTES!! Nothing went unanswered… Check in and check out process was beyond easy… And he always wanted to make sure that we had everything we needed and were fully accommodated, as we expected to be!! This host is incredible along with all of the maintenance staff, and everybody involved!! We would definitely Book with this host, and any of their properties again!! ##### Rene H. Apr 10, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### A Wonderful Week in the Keys Our family of 4 had a wonderful week at “The Palm” at Sugarloaf Beach. As advertised and as others had mentioned, the seaweed (smelly at times) and bugs were present, but we expected it going in and it didn’t take away from all the fun we had on the beach and in the pool. The beach area directly in front of the house is perfect for lounging in the sun, searching for shells and sea glass, and playing in the sand. The tiki lounge area to the right of the house was a great area to hang out on and we enjoyed a couple of picnics there. The pool/grilling area is beautiful and we took advantage of it almost every day. The big pool was kept nice and warm too. The house is definitely in need of updating and lacks simple touches of a rental (missing a toilet paper holder in one bathroom, no hot pads for the oven, no kitchen dish towels, no ice machine/molds, no laundry baskets, etc.), but all minor inconveniences. While the property is out in the middle of nowhere (part of the appeal), it was convenient enough to make day trips into Key West and Marathon during the week.
