"Everything was within walking distance, which was great. The hot tub was not working which was disappointing. The walls between rooms seemed pretty thin - we could really hear our neighbors. "

"LIKE: Hotel started in late 1800s. Period atmosphere was an educational change compared to modern "hotels". Yet, Strater was up to date in all aspects required to make stay comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable. Shower and bath facilities were especially nice. Location convenient to just about any kind of tourist/ history/ experience, including occasional steam whistle signals (not during sleeping hours) from Steam Locomotive for D&RGW narrow gauge excursion trains to Silverton, Colo. The whole experience gave credence to Durango's historic role as a gateway to one of Colorado's richest historic mining districts dating from late 1800s. DISLIKE: Nothing. Would definitely stay at Strater in Durango, CO again."
