Once the home of the Phipps family, it offers visitors a chance to explore the Gilded Age luxury, with guided tours, seasonal events, and picturesque walking paths that make it a perfect spot for a peaceful afternoon. Castle Gould at Sands Point Preserve Castle Gould, part of the Sands Point Preserve, is a striking castle-like mansion built in the early 1900s. While it was originally intended as a stable and carriage house, its medieval-inspired architecture is impressive. Visitors can tour the grounds, walk the nature trails, and explore the nearby Hempstead House, another mansion on the preserve, which offers even more history and charm.
