Lovely stay in a great size family room. Swimming pool for the kids was great. Staff all friendly and very helpful (we had a visit from the tooth fairy whilst there 😊 ) Pancakes for breakfast made the kids day! Good location with car to lots of things. Would recommend.

great quality - superb value
Good location - quiet but pleasant 20 min walk to town centre. Easy parking. Very friendly reception. Accommodation functional but very clean, very comfortable bed & linen and a great shower ( looks new). Breakfast was an amazing feast - excellent quality full english and served by very pleasant young staff. Best all round value Ive had in years - and I have travelled a great deal !

Mostly OK
You know all those little things that really make a stay special (nice bottles of mineral of mineral water, a shower that stays hot, a 'Do not disturb' sign for the door, heating that works...)? Well, this hotel had none of them. Having said that, it's basically OK. It's clean and comfortable (apart from the shower) and the staff do their best. The on-site spa (pool, gym etc) is good, although the sauna is something of a cupboard. Overall, I'd say they need to provide more, or charge less.

A comfortable stay
The reception staff were welcoming and offered us coffee while we waited for our room. The room was a little underwhelming at first and very warm but we had a comfortable stay as the beds were comfortable, the room was clean and quiet. We switched the radiator down and opened the window. Breakfast was lovely and very hot. The service was a bit brusk and not very flexible. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Room was very tired, walls covered in scrapes and smudges. Bathroom stunk very heavily of strong bleach. The ceiling in the halls have water marks from leaks. Food was extremely slow and waiting staff quite useless. Staff in general very friendly and helpful, just the hotel itself is very tired and dilapidated. I did not try the pool or gym so can't comment on them.

Unfortunately, it is the only hotel within sensible walking distance to family so we have little choice but to stay here. We've been before and had very poor experiences, so we wouldn't stay unless we had no other choice. We arrived at 13.00 and asked if we could check in. The delightfully blunt reply was 'No'. Apparently, check in is at 14.00 We set our expectations very low (in light of previous experience) to avoid disappointment. We deliberately didn't book dinner nor breakfast as these were not good previously. Just as well really, as we'd been told the dining room was fully booked. Funnily enough, when we walked past the restaurant at 19.00 on our way out to an excellent local restaurant, the dining room was very nearly empty. Whatever. The room was ok but the bathroom was tired and in need of cosmetic repairs. Also, there was an iron shaped burn mark on the carpet. If we had any other options, we wouldn't stay here and we definitely wouldn't recommend The Parkmore Hotel. If you can, find somewhere nicer, there are plenty around further out of the town.

Freezing Old Hotel Building
1. Radiator valves in the bedroom have been closed so no heating. Was freezing while it was raining outside. Complained so many times to the reception and finally was given a small heater to keep myself warm. 2. Mould around the tub 3. Wooden Flooring made noise while walking upstairs, old building needs proper maintenance!

Ok stay
Arrived Sunday around 3pm, had a Sunday dinner in the birdcage restaurant was very nice.. The room 114 not the best very worn. cream carpet quite stained walls marked and plaster chipped. We are a family of 4 with a 3 year old and 7 month old and the room just lacks things, no hair dryer or iron something you would expect in most hotels. No air conditioning and the room was very hot .. Swimming pool is lovely just a bit cold but worth a visit. Overall ok stay.

Very nice
Room wasn’t very nice but then was moved to a suite. Bit noisy with deliveries and outside air con system/boiler system. All staff very friendly. House keeping girls all lovely! Sunday lunch was lovely! Never got to use the pool just the gym but very nice! Would definitely stay there again!

Called the property late evening prior to booking, and queried regarding the restaurant and the electric charging pod. When got to the hotel (after couple of hours), only to find out the both electric charger is not working and the restaurant closed earlier than said time. Bed comfort was not great either

This hotel could be great but is in really poor shape. Food limited eg instant coffee served at breakfast, no fresh fruit, gluten free and non dairy products not evident. Room very small. Prices high but inconsistent eg other friends paid different rates Really can’t recommend without improving significantly

Helpful and pleasant staff and had a warm welcome Rooms clean and tidy and functional. Great shower in my room, although wall mirror was missing and light over the mirror that should have been there didn't work. Glass roof over the entrance and other conservatory rooves could do with a clean, but only a minor point. All in all a good stay and will certainly be going back

This is an ok Best Western. i.e. hasn't been decorated since the 80s. Biggest problem is the ridiculously slow restaurant service with more unavailable items than available. The "chef" patently can't cook anything off menu. If something you have ordered comes with an accompaniment and they don't have it, they can't offer an alternative. Couldn't even add a baked potato when they ran out of fondant potatoes. Obviously all pre packed food. Waited 45 minutes in a mostly empty restaurant for a steak. Rooms are ok, staff are friendly but let down by the corporate offering.

Disappointing!!
Room was VERY cold at all times even with the radiator at maximum. Bed duvet / linen was ripped and torn at one end. No hot water in the morning when I tried to wash. Restaurant food was below average. Dust on display shelf in restaurant.

Reception staff excellent. Room I stayed in was claustrophobic, drab, eggshell/beige walls, the layout was not cohesive, the bed was a few inches off the ground like a Japanese house, which I did not like, having the window open let in a lot of noise, with neighbouring front driveways being very close by with a lack of privacy, and overall I did not like the room much at all. Breakfast was ok but when ordering 2 cooked dishes, they were brought out at the same time so one went cold and was wasted. A little thought would say bring one then the other. Food quality was acceptable. Selection of breakfast was good.
