They had a nice home baked goody for us when we arrived. The accommodations were warm and cozy, with plenty of room to stretch out. Our 2 dogs loved the backyard and the walks at the facility next door! The backyard does have some areas on the fence that are not quite dog proof, but we kept them on-leash and we were fine. We were particularly impressed by the thoughtful touches: dog-safe bug spray, extra sunscreen, and plenty of towels for lake trips. The owner clearly thinks about what guests need.Communication was excellent throughout, and the homemade carrot cake waiting for us was a delightful welcome! The Red Barn is quirky in all the best ways – full of personality and warmth. Our hosts personalized our stay with delicious home-baked treats and recommendations on local attractions. The fridge and pantry were stocked with essentials (a first for a vacation rental). Our dogs loved the huge backyard and nearby (next door) woodland trail. We especially enjoyed Rocky Gap Park Beach (good rock hunting and very few people) and Riverview Park for dog walking with accessible water access.
