The cottage features a fabulous, fully stocked custom kitchen, bright & airy, with leathered dolomite counters & copper farm sink, smoothe electric cooktop in the island, dishwasher, full fridge, built-in microwave & convection oven, built-in trash/recycle bins, K-cup or grounds single cup coffee maker with coffees (traditional pot brewer in cabinet,) sweeteners & creamers & a variety of small appliances & utensils to prepare meals of any size. Dining at the island eating bar for four. The comfy living room has plenty of seating with couch, loveseat and roomy swivel chair, game/puzzle sized coffee table, DVD player, basket full of blankets, games, dedicated workspace & 58" Roku HD tv. There are 2 bedrooms- thoughtfully appointed. One bedroom (Master - 12' x 12') has a king bed, armoire, basket & drawer clothing storage, blackout drapes, ceiling fan & bath adjoins. The 2nd bedroom (12' x 13') has a king bed & twin bunk beds designed for adult comfort. All beds have quality new memory foam mattresses, quality linens, accessible power strips with USB chargers & bedside reading lamps. The laundry has washer & dryer, basic detergents, drying rack, folding counter, iron & board, broom closet & laundry bins. The full bath has a tub/shower combination with tile walls, furnished bath products, plenty of towels, first aid cabinet, marble floor & vanity with quartz counter & good cosmetic lighting. Lighted makeup mirror furnished. Outside spaces include a front porch with porch swing & courting rocker seating. Also , our guest favorite, 11' x 26' back screened porch with comfortable furniture in the living/seating area, dining table & chairs for 6, ceiling fan, vaulted ceiling & an HD tv. The spacious back yard with fire pit has six wrought iron motion chairs for relaxing & stargazing - comfortable & easy to get into & out of for "those of a certain age." Firewood is furnished. There is a 6' privacy fenced "dog yard" to the side of the home with screened door access off the rear porch - we make every effort to keep your pets safe. The rear yard is large & can be used for on-lead exercise. We ask that pets be kept off furniture as it is all new, but we furnish couch covers for cuddling with fur babies. For larger groups, sister properties, The Holiday Rambler @ Steele Magnolia (sleeps 3) or The Guesthouse @ Steele Magnolia (sleeps 4) are available for joint booking. The Rambler is 130' to the rear of the cottage on the back corner of the lot. It has privacy fencing for the comfort of both units. The Guesthouse is 60' behind The Cottage and yet feels very private. The host lives minutes away should you need anything. Dollar General Grocery store is three miles from the cottage. Wal-Mart Super Center is 6 miles. I-59/Steele exit is 3 miles. Everything has been updated to allow for modern convenience & comforts but with the character of a southern country cottage. Steele Magnolia offers all the comforts of home for travelers, event stays, extended stays, family visits or a relaxing getaway. Sleeps six & is pet friendly & handicap accessible. Paved parking on premises, including boats, trailers, moving trucks or RVs. Attractions close include Jacksonville State University, Alabama International Dragway, Horsepens 40, Chief Ladiga Trail, Cherokee Rock Village, Noccalulla Falls, Mountaintop Trade Days, several wineries, Big Wills Creek, Tigers for Tomorrow, Rock the South & Talladega Motor Speedway. I booked Steele Magnolia for the days surrounding my daughter’s wedding. It was 20 minutes from Mountain View Farms which made it perfect. The cottage exceeded my expectations and was the perfect compliment to the sweet week of festivities! Shannon has thought of everything. It is perfectly detailed and contained so many conveniences! I felt right at home. The bed that I slept on was comfortably firm, there were plenty of pillows and extra blankets if they had been needed. The bathroom was fully furnished with plenty of towels Nd washcloths too. Although I dis not cook, the kitchen was fully and completely stocked with cookware, utensils and dishes! We stayed at Steele Magnolia because we had an event in Gadsden for our lemonade/snow cone trailer to support our son with cancer #HookedOnHopeForKarston. This house was the perfect place to rest and recharge! Our boys loved the bunkbeds and tree swing! Mama and Daddy loved drinking our coffee and enjoying the breeze on the screened in porch in the mornings. The driveway had plenty of room for our trailer. We felt safe upon arrival, even coming in at midnight. The host left the porch lights on for us since she knew it would be late when we checked in. Steele Magnolia was the perfect place to stay! It’s a charming cottage, beautifully remodeled & has the most thoughtful personalized extras. It really felt more like our own private bed & breakfast. We were greeted with a sweet handwritten welcome note, along with a delicious, fresh baked loaf of banana bread. The owner was readily available, for any needs, but we didn’t have any. Everything was great! The house was well stocked with any kitchenware you might need (we did not use any, as we were too on the go to cook), as well as plenty of bathroom linens. There were even personal toiletries, if you find yourself in need of those. The beds were very comfortable, which is a big concern when we travel, due to back issues. Each morning I sat on the back porch to have coffee and enjoy the cooler weather & listen to the train in the distance…so relaxing! I will definitely look forward to staying again! ##### Christi G. About a 50-minute drive to the speedway. Spent a week in AL. This cottage was our third VRBO and a great place to end our vacation. The cottage was as expected - clean, tidy, and very comfortable. Great outdoor space. Spent the majority of our time relaxing on the back porch. Great thrifting in the area (if that's your 'thing'). We had an immediate need upon arrival and the owner was quick to respond - very attentive, which was greatly appreciated. Overall, it is the best place we stayed during our trip. ##### Christy W. This cottage is what you hope for when you book a rental! You might not know from the outside, but inside the house has been renovated and refurbished incredibly! There’s so much character - modern amenities wish antique touches! The outdoor space is fun and relaxing with a great side yard for your pup. The host has put an incredible amount of attention to detail to bringing this home to life. Shannon is also extremely kind and wants the best experience for each guest - providing contact information for any needs and checking in when my husband and I checked out a bit early to ensure everything was okay. 12/10 recommend! The house has been updated, & was very clean, with a rustic, homey feeling. The décor complemented the age of the home. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to make complete meals. There were plenty of bath towels & other linens. More personal touches that one could imagine. We arrived to a welcoming note with a fresh baked loaf of delicious banana bread & a bowl of chocolate candy plus a fridge with cold bottled water, various carbonated drinks & even some eggs. But for us, the best feature of the house was the screened in back porch, complete with comfortable furniture, TV, & blankets It was so relaxing sitting out there in the evening. The fire pit was ready to go if only the temperature had not been in the 80’s. LOL. We visit our friends in Steele about twice a year & have stayed various places.
