Overall it was a great stay but it's time for the owners to invest in AC for it to be a truly viable summer rental for the rates they charge and the value of the property. It's a fantastic property and it's in great shape with high end finishes, I lived in the mountains for many years and fully understand that AC was not always a necessity--for many towns that has changed in the last decade. A property of this quality and this price should not have the heat issues it has during the really warm days. I realize it's not an issue everyday but it got into the mid/upper eighties while we were there and it was difficult to moderate the internal temperatures especially upstairs. It got cool at night but managing the fans to get good air flow in and out was an ongoing battle to get the place cooled down after the heat of the afternoon. The days when it was literally 3 or 4 degrees cooler in the late afternoon meant that it was overall very pleasant so again, it may only be an issue on a small percentage of days in the summer but a property of this quality shouldn't require you to fight those battles--it's time for the owners to step up and make the investment in a split system, there should be more than enough equity to borrow from with what has happened to property values in the area in the last couple of years. Other than that, it was amazing. The kitchen is equipped with high quality stuff, cooking there and big meals with family are a joy. The community pool was amazing for the kids, location was great as well with a walking path down to Wild Plum Market and the base area.
