Our 45-acre refuge is nestled at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah National Park, making it ideal for a relaxing getaway. We just finished renovating this one-bedroom log cabin and are now offering it to couples looking for a romantic retreat. The spacious layout features a big stone fireplace, a new queen-size log bed with a comfortable foam mattress, and a separate bathroom and shower that can accommodate two people with its distinctive tilework. Wide glass French doors let you to look out at the mountains from the comfort of your bed. Relax with a cup of coffee in hand and take in the peaceful surroundings on the covered porch. However I would recommend this place only if a couple would truly like to retreat from the world during the month of December. I thought there would be some trails for hiking but it unexpectedly snowed a decent amount and the nearest town for shopping or doing activities seemed to be about an hour plus away. The water pressure was amazing. Usually you don't have water pressure or hot water and both were awesome. Our stay was one of the best ever. The only issues we had were that the hot water didn't last very long. Maybe 7-8 minutes. Also, the wireless was useless. I was able to connect to it, but couldn't get to anything on the Internet. We had cabin #10 and it's a 1BR/1BA setup, but has most everything you could ask for including a hot tub outside under the stars. The property itself is beautiful - nestled in the mountains with gorgeous sunrises (and moonrises) and we were treated to see some of the local wildlife...a buck, a few other deer, a group of pheasants (we think anyway), and even a fox. It's a gated property so traffic is limited to guests only. Of all the many places I have stayed in the US, Hawaii and abroad this is the first time I have experienced 1 ply toilet paper, no complementary toiletries, or complementary coffee/tea/bottled water basket, no laundry detergent to complement the washer/dryer. A steep cleaning deposit but yet the customer is asked to do half the cleaning up before checking out. With all the added fees this stay turned out to be way more expensive for what it had to offer. To make this a true romantic getaway, which it could be - upgrade the bedding and get rid of the quite uncomfortable couch (although it did hold luggage quite nicely) that is up against a wall not facing the TV, so the end tables can be put in their proper locations. For the price paid the things that are missing is what a customer is expecting to find in order to have a true romantic getaway. ##### Malcolm J.
