The Peaceful Parrot and Parakeet is a 3BR, 2BA home. Two bedrooms and one bathroom are in the main home and a 3rd bedroom and 2nd bathroom are in a separate building in the backyard. Dedicated dining space plus a Florida room that can be an outdoor or indoor room depending on the temperatures plus outdoor patio table. Easy walk to downtown Gulfport or the Gulfport marina and Clam Bayou Nature Park. As you enter the front door, you’ll find yourself immediately in the comfortable and spacious living room, furnished in the soothing colors of sand and sea. Drop into one of the cozy armchairs or curl up on the sofa to stream your favorite show, movie, or anticipated sporting event on TV w/WiFi. A ceiling fan keeps things cool. The Florida room looks over the privacy fenced backyard and offers upgraded lounge furniture. Bring out your book, or your mobile device, and maybe even a tall glass of lemonade to enjoy the peace and quiet. Cooking and Dining We hope you enjoy cooking! The kitchen has been thoughtfully updated with all the most popular amenities. You’ll find stainless steel appliances, including a French-door refrigerator, solid-surface counters, and a lovely coordinated tile backsplash. With plenty of cabinet and counter space as well, there’s no doubt the kitchen will be well-loved during your stay. A convenient peninsula bar seats 3\. The dining room offers the opportunity to bring back the tradition of a family dinner. With a natural beadboard ceiling and seating for 4, you’ll enjoy a warm and welcoming vibe in a space that naturally invites you to linger over after-dinner conversation. Sleeping Accommodations and Bathrooms There are a total of 3 bedrooms. The Peaceful Parrot offers two bedrooms with a shared full bath. The first bedroom features a queen bed, with plenty of storage for your clothes and luggage, and a ceiling fan. The second bedroom has a daybed-style double bed, with built in storage and coordinating decor in soothing colors. The shared bathroom has a tub/shower. The Parakeet features its own private bedroom (the 3rd bedroom), a bath with a walk-in shower and the washer/dryer. What's Nearby? Gulfport has been called a lot of things, but boring isn’t one of them! It has been referred to, in no particular order, funky, eclectic, artsy, charming, progressive, welcoming, warm, and even weird. It proudly accepts all of it! The downtown is small, but exceptionally welcoming. You won’t find any chain stores, or parking meters, but you will find beautiful old oak trees dripping in Spanish moss. And you will definitely find small-town friendliness and warmth. Beach and Shore Boulevards are at the heart and soul of the historic downtown area, which is directly situated on scenic Boca Ciega Bay. Those downtown shops are all independently owned and operated and feature works of local artists and artisans, as well as clothes, books, gifts, home decor, and more. A concentration of more than a dozen restaurants in the village has made Gulfport a premier dining destination. You can find anything from a burger to find dining. Make sure you’re here for our bi-monthly Art Walk, on the first Friday and third Saturday or each month. And while you’re at it, grab your grocery bags and head over to Tuesday Fresh Market for fresh fruits and veggies, breads, cheese, seafood, honey, plants and more, all from local vendors. The house is within walking distance to downtown Gulfport, and only 10 min to the beach, and close to downtown St Pete. We were in the perfect spot, close to all of the places we wanted to go. Houses in this area tend to be two-bedroom beach bungalows. With the addition of the converted outbuilding to a third bedroom and laundry, this property provides a lot of flexibility for a family stay. The house is walkable to the Clam Bayou marine reserve for kayaking and to Gulfport's quaint downtown and beach, with its beach bars, gift shops, breakfast restaurant, coffee shops, and nicer Italian restaurant. Everyone knows about the Dali Museum but don't miss Imagine Museum, Chihuly Museum or Duncan McClellan Glass Gallery. You can walk to the shops and beach, but nit carry all the beach chairs and such. I enjoyed the little backyard and enclosed patio in the mornings. The rooms felt spacious. Although we did not use the Parakeet room in the renovated garage, it would work for another 1-2 people who want to be separate from the main group. The Bayou and Marina are just down the road, and is a great place to walk or kayak. It is a bit away from town, but that makes it quieter. Communication with the manager was excellent. Neighborhood is very quiet with nice walk along the shore to the small nature reserve, and its a very short nice and slow drive to little old downtown Gulfport. We enjoyed having the fenced in backyard so we could bring our 2 dogs. Beth made the process seamless and stress free. Plus the neighbors were sooo nice too! The area of Gulfport is cute and we enjoyed quick bike rides to downtown Gulfport. 12/10 would recommend staying here! ##### Madisen R. The property is spacious clean and full of new appliances. Management comes with a light hand but all and everything you need is provided.
