West End Whimsy was in a great location, felt safe, and there was plenty of room. We had some issues on our first day, but they were addressed quickly. Central West End is a historic neighborhood with gorgeous architecture and so much charm. May walkable shops nearby including Pass the Past Coffee which had wonderful coffee and amazing scratch-made baked desserts and opens at 7am, perfect for a morning walk to beat the heat. Jeni's Ice Cream (delicious and unique) and Left Bank Books (huge selection and cool atmosphere) were also family favorites.Tips for future renters: Bring a fan. This is a multi-level town home with an open foyer and lots of windows. It was 95-100 degrees outside and the house took a very long time to cool down. Thank goodness we usually travel with a small fan — it really helped the comfort level on the top floor. If you have a large family, bring extra towels. There are five people in our crew (including 3 girls with long hair) and only 4 bath/shower towels. We needed to do multiple loads of laundry to keep up.
