My 3-star rating is based on the fact that we were surprised and disappointed upon initial entry. The property is listed as an “apartment with kitchen,” however, it is not clear that the layout is more accurately a kitchenette with a mini-fridge just a few feet from the bed. (This is an issue because I wake up earlier than my husband—his career is incredibly taxing so catching up on sleep during vacation is a vital part of “getting away.)”We have booked through VRBO countess times in an array countries and this is the first time we felt misled. Additionally, the price reflects -condo- as opposed to what it actually is, which is an observation based upon our previous six stays in STJ. While the host was helpful when responding to my questions regarding check-in and check-out, I received no response when I politely voiced the property layout issue on our first day of travel. As an FYI, there is a closet with hangers and wire shelving, but there are no dressers for putting away clothing. Check-in/check-out was very simple and convenient. View of Cruz Bay is as beautiful as it is pictured in description. A full photo of the room facing the bed and kitchenette -combined- would clear up any misconceptions in terms of expectations. In short, if you’re looking for a hotel room style layout, this will be great for you. The outdoor deck and screened in porch are awesome chill spots when not in the bedroom. We had a slight issue with the shower noting to fault the unit and the host responded very quickly and made sure to work quickly quietly and left without interfering one second of our stay.. in fact not only did we see the matter resolved but also left us extra towels !! Too far to walk to town, rental car a must! This “Honeymoon Suite” had a nice terrace with a beautiful view, however it was too hot with direct sun most of the time to sit in the lounge chairs provided and enjoy it. I would highly recommend an umbrella for future guests to maximize the experience. ##### Jane R. We enjoyed the screened in porch and deck every morning drinking our coffee and taking in the view. The suite had everything we needed and Cruize Bay was only minutes away with our jeep rental. Four wheel drive is necessary if you stay here because of the steep driveway. It is also great to have four wheel drive to explore the island which has rough parking and steep roads in places. This was a great relaxing vacation!! ##### Mark S. Great views, screened porch area, dedicated parking, washer & dryer, close to nearby grocery stores - all major pluses! A few minor upgrades needed (coffee maker, remote for main fan & light, water pressure for shower) would make it even better. Overall nice place while visiting St.John! ##### CJ C.
