THE SKINNY: This historic charming 2 bedroom home is situated just a hair off San Marco Avenue, very close to the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind! Now with a brand new HOT TUB, enjoy the outdoor space even more! Amazing morning sun is available in gobs on the back patio with seating and pergola, or enjoy the shady screened in front porch in one of our swings. The home is situated just a few minutes drive from downtown and Vilano Beach and is a prime location for wedding or event attendees being held at the Fountain of Youth or Carriage House, as well as many other wedding venues! Enjoy your coffee in the shade, a drink in the sun, light up the twinkle lights at night or cook in our well equipped kitchen for a movie night in!  
  
THE PROXIMITY: Central to downtown, uptown, Vilano Beach and US Highway 1 which takes you to all parts of St. Augustine quickly for shopping, eating and seeing other areas of the city! The walkability of this home to shops, restaurants, coffee spots, museums and even our public library is unparalleled.   
  
THE SPACE: The home itself sleeps 4 comfortably in 1 King bed and 1 Queen bed, each in their own bedroom on either side of the bathroom. The kitchen is equipped to service 4+ people to eat together for a great night in! The TV's are all Smart TV 's, so simply login to your Netflix, Hulu or HBO account to enjoy your favorite movies and shows.   
  
THE LAYOUT - Unit A has a solid 2/1 layout:   
  
BEDROOMS: One bedroom has a King bed and the other bedroom has a Queen bed.   
  
BATHROOM: 1 is located in the main hall for easy access and is situated between the 2 bedrooms. The bathroom features a shower/tub combo.   
  
AMENITIES: Pergola patio with brand new hot tub spa! Screened in porch with swings. Laundry machines are in a dedicated laundry space located at the back of the property attached to Unit B. Linens and towels are included.   
  
OPEN LIVING: The kitchen is situated adjacent to the living and dining area so everyone can be together whether lounging, dining or cooking! We outfit the kitchen with one roll of paper towels, a few starter trash bags and dishwasher pods for your first couple of days.   
  
PARKING: All driveway parking is dedicated to Units B + C. There is a long driveway, but we cannot allow guests to park in the driveway as it would block guests in Units B + C from coming and going. It is encouraged for Unit A guests to park on the street where the parking is free. You will be towed. There is no other parking provided.   
  
LAUNDRY: We offer a laundry room with washer and dryer, starter laundry pods, iron and ironing board and some basic cleaning supplies for your convenience.   
  
HISTORIC DOWNTOWN ST. AUGUSTINE: Just a 4 minute drive south on San Marco is historic downtown St. Augustine! Take a tour, enjoy the rich Spanish history, the architecture, the food and craft cocktails and all that our pleasant waterfront town has to offer. BEACHSIDE FUN IN THE SUN: Our beaches are unparalleled! We really know how to enjoy what nature has blessed us with here in our quaint little St. Augustine Beach. This home is situated minutes from Vilano Beach which we can guide you to after booking confirmation. You can also drive to one of the public beach accesses on St. Augustine Beach about 20 minutes away to park and walk on.   
  
TURN IT UP: Want to live on the edge? There are a couple of rental shops nearby where you can rent surfboards, paddle boards, snorkeling gear, you name it! Deep sea fishing charters and boat rentals are also available in multiple places throughout town. Delivery bike rentals available via a local company. Contact me for recommendations.   
  
SECURITY DEPOSIT: In lieu of a traditional security deposit charge or authorization hold for a large sum, we will instead charge a one-time non-refundable incidentals fee to your stay of $49\. This fee acts as insurance for minor damages and covers you up to a max of $500 of damage. You may elect to increase your incidentals fee for more coverage ($99 for $1000, $149 for $1500, $199 for $2000 and so on and so forth). \*IMPORTANT: Guests must report to us any damage that has taken place during their stay before checkout, otherwise the incidental fee coverage is null and void. In this case, we reserve the right to charge the full amount of repairing or replacing the damaged items to you. Your insurance coverage amount ($500, $1000, $1500, etc) is not the max that you are responsible for. If damages exist beyond your coverage amount we will document this with photos and professional estimates of repair, and bill you for the repairs or replacements.  
  
Guest Access:  
  
This is Unit A, a standalone building at the front of the property. Units B + C are located at the back of the property in a separate building. Please know you may see other guests on site during your stay.   
  
Entire space of Apartment/Unit A ONLY is included in this rental. Please, make yourself at home.   
  
Please be sure to abide by parking rules notated in the above section.  
  
Hot tub is not shared but it is NOT completely private. It is situated behind Unit A so it is hidden from any passersby on the street, however guests in B + C can see the hot tub.   
  
Guests in B + C may have their own dogs. Please keep your dogs leashed at all times. We are not responsible for any issues that arise between guest pets.   
  
Laundry facilities are in a dedicated room on the outside of the Unit B/C building and all 3 units guests share this laundry space.  
  
The Neighborhood:  
  
This neighborhood is so special and unique! It is home to the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. The community here is amazing. Just around the corner is one of the best convenience stores in town for craft and micro-brew beer selection, Vinny's. There is a yoga studio and a great Mexican restaurant, El Potro. Walk to one of St. Augustine's hottest coffee shops, DOS Coffee. Just a short walk down San Marco Avenue is the famous cross "The Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche" at Mission Nombre de Dios. Nearby is the Fountain of Youth, the Old Jail, the Ripley's Believe It or Not Trolley Pickup and so much more!  
  
Getting Around:  
  
We recommend renting a car for your stay. If you prefer to travel by bicycle or would just like to rent them for fun, check out Drifters for drop off/pick up bike rentals.

WEEKLY SERVICES: There are various service providers that visit and maintain the exterior of the property on a weekly basis and the days they visit vary from week to week. These services include lawn care, exterior pest control, trash handling and where applicable, pool and spa cleaners. Some properties may have other specialty service providers. If you see them outside, they are just on site to do their job and keep the home in its best condition for the enjoyment of our guests.  
  
Please remember that you're staying in a house, not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on site 24/7.  
  
Guests must be 21 or older to book.  
  
NOISE LEVELS: There are guests in the other 2 units in the building. We ask you to be considerate of the tenants in the other units by keeping noise levels down and observing quiet time per St. Johns County ordinance from the hours of 10pm until 8am.  
  
Hot tub is not shared but it is NOT completely private. It is situated behind Unit A so it is hidden from any passersby on the street, however guests in B + C can see the hot tub.   
  
Pack N Play Available Upon Request with 48 hours notice.  
  
Dog friendly only. 2 dogs total allowed, with maximum weight of 50 lbs each.  
  
Our dog rent fee is $30.00/Dog/Night, $175.00/Dog/Week, with a maximum of $300.00/Dog/Month.  
  
\-This fee is added on to your total after booking confirmation.  
  
\-The fee doesn't cover damage caused by your pet. We will provide photos and a handyman quote to fairly assess repair charges.  
  
\-Pets must be fully housebroken, freshly bathed prior to arrival and treated with flea and tick meds within 30 days of check in.  
  
\-Please share with us any details regarding weight, age, if crated when left alone, if allowed on furniture. If you are bringing a dog, please reach out to us directly about our policy and fees!  
  
LOST AND FOUND ITEMS: We charge a $50 minimum to ship forgotten items, which must be paid in advance. For heavier items, we ask that you pre-pay the $50 and we will acquire any additional shipping cost and bill this to you accordingly + 25% service fee.

Hidden away in the marshes of St. Augustine is one of the most important sites in American history: the first free community of ex-slaves, founded in 1738 and called Gracia Real de Santa Teresa de Mose or Fort Mose (pronounced Moh-Say). Fort Mose played an extremely important role in the development of colonial North America.

As early as 1687, the Spanish government had begun to offer asylum to slaves who managed to escape from British colonies (the first Underground Railroad ran SOUTH to Florida from the colonies!). In 1693, the Spanish Crown officially proclaimed that runaways would find freedom in Florida, in return for converting to Catholicism and a term for men of four years' military service to the Crown. In effect, Spain created a maroon settlement in Florida as a front-line defense against English attacks from the north. Spain also intended to destabilize the plantation economy of the British colonies by creating a free black community to attract slaves seeking escape and refuge from British slavery.

Fort Mose was the first free African settlement legally sanctioned in what would become the United States and had a total population of about 100. The village had a wall around it, with dwellings inside, plus a church and an earthen fort.

Points forts : Propreté

This is su h a cozy place abd we certainly enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood was peaceful & we were in a perfect place for traveling to the site we want to see. Our furbabies enjoyed themselves also, walks and the porch and front gate was perfect. 5 stars!!
