This canal is nearly clear water not murky like other canals!!!! The house is recently remodeled and bright with a fully-equipped kitchen, dining room, and a spacious living room with sliding glass doors opening onto the sundeck, where you will enjoy relaxing and dining outside - while watching for the manatee, otters, and abundant birdlife that visit frequently. ... This cottage is on a peaceful canal, a quick paddle to the main river. We were in our kayaks daily: upstream to the state park and downstream to hospital hole, where you are guaranteed to see manatee. We really enjoyed our stay here. The kayaks were the bonus of the property. We enjoyed the fire pit, fishing off the dock, paddling up to the springs, jumping off the dock and swimming, and the company. This was a perfect long weekend for spring break. We are already talking about going back. Don’t forget the bug spray!
