Black out curtains offer 100% privacy at your choosing. Grill and sip under the stars and enjoy your favorite beverage at the firepit in this natural lover's oasis. You will be completely surrounded by woods and the sound of the natural mountain stream in front of the cabin. You provide your own firewood. Mountain Spring Water Is quality tested. The use of washer and dryer will be limited and approved in advance. For those family members that want more heat then others, we have space heaters and plush warm blankets. The main heat source is our new 30,000BTU propane. It is the Mountains it can be cold on winter nights!! Cook on an 1960's Electric Stove that is the same model as Bewitched cooked on. Please note at this time only the 2 front burners work on the cook top and additional hotplate is provided both dual ovens work. Everything you can ask for and more. All the rustic charm of the 1800s, but with the nice touch of modern amenities! The gas heater brought back nostalgic memories from my childhood with my grandparents house. The experience of staying in a rustic cabin in such a remote location was refreshing and a welcomed change of pace. Even though the cabin itself is located on a mountain side down winding roads you are only 15 minutes away from Main Street. Cute town with everything you need. I highly recommended you stop by 1776 Log House Restaurant. I guarantee you have never experienced anything like it. Loved here and will stay again if we find ourselves in the area. ##### Steve S. The area was new to us and so we also had a fun time exploring and the Rural Retreat area. The cabin was clean and just the right size for me and my hubs plus our son and his GF. The kitchen was good for preparing meals, the single bath served fine for 4 people plus the beds were comfy. Coffee in the morning on the front porch was nice to experience the quiet country atmosphere. Krista the host was accommodating and her communication was very friendly and professional. We seen everything during our stay wild turkeys, and 12 little babies and an abundance of baby deers with their mamas my fiancé even saw a bear with its cub, While, we were out on one of our days in a swimming hole nearby! The complementary coffee and sugar and kitchen utensils came in hand. We traveled here with our kiddos whom loved the little piece of heaven on earth. Every year two of my daughters go down to Southwestern Virginia and stay with their family and we drive down and pick them up. I believe we will be staying here again in the future! ##### Shantel C. There is a large power company light just outside the property and the neighbor is clearing the property next door (chainsaw sounds all day). Other than that it is peaceful and quiet at night. The left oven did not close all the way. Porch was peaceful and there is amazing hiking in the area. The decor was cute, cabin was clean and the host was responsive to questions. Would have been very nice to have firewood available if needed (it is 100 charge) but it was summer and I didn’t really want/need a fire. ##### Michelle D. It was rustic and true to its original build in the 1800’s with modern upgrades. Walking through the front door was like stepping back in time. Great place to stay to get off the grid and reconnect with nature or unplug from the computer, but also close enough to town if you need supplies. ##### Christa L.
