We are committed to continue the reputation created by our first vacation rental, as one of the most popular properties to reserve for family and friend get-away to South Padre Island. The pool and entertainment area were created with quality design and luscious landscaping to make a beautiful place to relax after spending the day at the beach, shopping or touring the many attractions of the area. We remain committed to providing personal attention to each of our guests during their reservation at Southern Destination just as we have with our past guests at Destination Constellation (Listing #1307966). We promise that you will be impressed with the attractive furnishings and amenities throughout the property. If you are planning a trip to South Padre Island, now is the time to go online and make a reservation at Southern Destination or Destination Constellation. Large families may consider both properties that can accommodate up to 30 guests (maximum of 14 guests at Destination Constellation and 16 guests at Southern Destination). The properties are only 1 house apart from each other. Southern Destination is a private home on the resort on South Padre Island that has been transformed into a relaxing vacation rental, including a heated pool, recently redecorated. South Padre Island is a beach destination located at the tip of the Texas coast, just north of Brownsville, Texas and is bordered on the east side by the Gulf of Mexico and on the west side by the Laguna Madre. The island is only accessible by causeway or boat. Southern Destination is just a couple minute walk, about 120 yds. down Constellation Drive to Aquarius Circle Beach Access #18\. At Aquarius Circle beach entrance, island visitors will find easy access to the Gulf of Mexico via a newly constructed boardwalk with outdoor shower for easy clean-up after a relaxing day on the beach. Waiting back at your private vacation home is Spectrum cable, and high-speed internet available throughout the house (a total of six flat-screen TVs). The master bedroom can accommodate two guests each with a King size bed. Guest bedroom can accommodate four guests each on a queen size bed and two XL bunks. The third bedroom has two sets of queen beds that will accommodate four more guests. The loft bedroom has a queen sleeper sofa for two more the sleep with an inflatable comfort mattress. A queen size sleeper sofa in this large open living room can accommodate two guests each. These are the best sofa sleepers that you will ever find to sleep upon. Each fitted with a normal thickness coil spring sofa mattress but what makes these different, the mattress has an adjustable air bed on top. Two additional rollaway beds will be located in the downstairs enrty closet. All sixteen guests will have easy access to covered patio and pool area in a beautifully landscaped backyard. You may bring your personal beach towels for the pool and beach but we have extra if needed. Bath towels provided by Southern Destination cannot be used at the beach. A fenced in backyard provides privacy for your family as they relax by the lagoon bottom pool. There are two outdoor showers on each side of the house. Southern Destination provides all bed linens and bath towels. Beds are adorned with colorful comforters, quilts, and blankets. The kitchen is complete with granite counters as well as all of the stainless steel appliances, equipment, and cooking amenities/utensils needed to prepare that special island meal for your family and friends. Not interested in cooking? There are several restaurants in close proximity to your vacation home available for your family and friends to enjoy a relaxed evening on the island. Southern Destination is a non-smoking facility. We will consider allowing up to two pets with prior approval. An additional cleaning fee does apply. Two driveways provide enough space in front of the house to accommodate up to five cars. South Padre has so many enjoyable activities for your family to participate in while you are on the island. Golf cart rental just down the street. Just across Padre Island Boulevard is the U.S. Post Office and several restaurants and bars are within walking distance from Southern Destination. South Padre Island enjoys an unbelievable variety of amusement amenities, including fishing, swimming, windsurfing, beach buggy rides, horseback riding, party cruises and a vast range of water sports along the most beautiful gulf coast of South Texas. Your guests and family will also enjoy visiting well-known attractions such as The Birding Center, Turtle Rescue Center, Horseback Riding and Petting Center, and Museums. Shopping, restaurants with a variety of cuisines, and beachfront clubs and bars located throughout the island on our three major boulevards: Padre Island Blvd., Gulf Blvd., and Laguna Blvd. Another popular attraction is an eight-mile ride North to the end of the of Hwy 100\. There you will find beautiful sand dunes and a natural beach setting that is admired by travelers from all over the world. Two drive-on beach accesses allow you to drive north on the beach for over 20 miles. All throughout your reservation process for either property, we stay in constant contact with you. It was a lovely home and a perfect location. I would of provided a excellent rating except for the beds being so uncomfortable. In fact, every bedroom bed was uncomfortable. None of the outdoor lighting on the patio nor the pool lights worked. During the night the air mattress in the downstairs room and the the one in the upstairs sitting area went flat. I called Alex and his wife to come and replace the mattresses as this is completely unacceptable. They showed up and offered to “patch the mattresses.” They said that some “breakers were tripped, and they reset them and we should now have lights and pool heat.” During the night Saturday night, one mattress repair worked, the other did not. I called Alex Sunday morning and let him know that one repair worked and the other did not, and that he needed to bring replacements for the equipment.The upstairs sleeper sofa is a disaster. At some point, someone has replaced a sheared rivet (that obviously failed) with a screw and nut, which neither fit the hole properly nor allow the hide-a-bed to be put up with any less than 2 people. This location has plenty of space, the kitchen is nice and open for cooking and to enjoy family meals in dinning table and bar. The sleeping rooms upstairs are so comfortable with full bathrooms for plenty of room to accommodate all size parties. There are balcony views on both side of the home to sit and relax at night or mornings while taking in the sea breeze. We loved that everything is provided and there are even large washer/dryer machines to take care of any needs before you head out. The home also has a game room that is fun for lounging with plenty of TVs throughout the house. The pool is so peaceful with shade to enjoy all day long, and nice seating outside with BBQ grille to use. The downsides were the extremely long list of rules that were sent a week before we arrived including that, though dogs are allowed in the home, they are not allowed in the pool. Additionally, there were only two kitchen trash bags and one roll of paper towels for our stay; minimal kitchen items other than dishes (not even salt); and the dishwasher doesn't work well so we had to wash everything by hand. It is steps from the beach but not on the beach, which means that it is quiet, and you don’t have random people walking by the house to get to the beach. Our extended families took a 5-day trip down to South Padre Island during the 4th of July holiday break. On the 4th the main strip and the beach were packed, but the road the house is in was quiet and peaceful. The fireworks were majestic.The home is very spacious and clean. There is enough room for everyone to sleep as well as gather. Every couch has a pull-out bed and there are 6 beds in the 3 bedrooms. The game room was perfect for all the older kids to hang out and get to have their own space.Full kitchen with all the cooking tools and dining essentials. We enjoyed being able to make meals in the home when we didn’t go out to enjoy the many delicious restaurants SPI has to offer. We also enjoyed having the two charcoal grills to cook out.They do require an insurance during booking and there were a few forms to fill out that detailed who would be staying and what vehicles would be parked overnight. Just simple legal forms that are there to protect the owners, property management, and yourself. I read a reply that mentioned that the city of SPI suggests these in case of an emergency. As with any rental, there were rules listed and cleaning instructions, but they were far less than other stays I’ve had. No stripping linens or starting dishwasher or washing machines. We found everything in the home to be exactly as described and depicted in the photos. Our family of five vacationed at Southern Destination for 8 days and we could not be happier with our choice. We will definitely be returning! The home was very well stocked with pool towels, bath towels, dishes, silverware and cooking utensils. Plenty of comfortable seating in the living room and around the two dining tables gave us room to spread out. There were several chairs and a cooler provided to take to the beach which was just a quick 3 minute walk. A second fridge located in the laundry room was very helpful for extra storage of food and drinks. Another small drink fridge outside near the pool was convenient for easy access to drinks and snacks. Most of our time was spent outside in and around the pool. The pool and backyard were larger than expected and very clean. The front and rear balconies offer even more outdoor seating and space to spread out. This home has more than enough room for a large group. The beds were comfortable. One of us slept on the sofa bed in the gameroom and found it to be surprisingly comfortable. The other sofas have the same type of fold out air mattresses. There were two full bathrooms upstairs and a third full bathroom downstairs. All were very clean with good storage.
