Sep 1, 2025 Liked: Check-in, location Disliked: Cleanliness, communication, listing accuracy When we arrived on August 16th the house was clean looking and tidy. Sunday morning we noticed mouse droppings on the counter and every single morning thereafter. Their “welcome book” stated that it was normal for all homes to have mice and they were also contracted with exterminators. When we arrived, there was an open sugar box by the coffee maker and the sugar looked fine and I was using this sugar for my coffee from Sunday morning to Wednesday morning. On Thursday morning I saw a mouse dropping and one urine dropping in the sugar box. To say the least, I was disgusted. We also had some snacks on the counter when we arrived and Sunday one of the wrapped crackers was moved to the top of the stove & the package was open and the cracker was partially eaten. We put all snacks in the cupboard (their “welcome book” even suggested snacks be stored in the cupboard) But the mice also got into the cupboard and ate at some snacks. Late Friday morning I started to not feel well. I lied down to take a nap and woke up feeling worse and had a fever. I went to urgent care on Saturday only to be tested for the flu and Covid and they both were negative. We left on August 24th as planned and I went straight to the emergency room where I was diagnosed with pneumonia and sepsis. I believe it was due to this filthy mouse infested house. Also, if you walk around barefoot in the house, your feet end up filthy.
