The space
The South Haven Lake House is the gem and experience you are looking for— one of the newest, best-located, and most stylish homes in West Michigan on Airbnb for the price. Sparkling clean bedrooms (4) AND bathrooms (3.5) galore. Perfect for a family and large enough to also invite extended family and friends. About a five minute walk from Lake Michigan bluff. House has deeded stairs access to private Lake Michigan beach (**Please, please read all notes about the stairs and beach access**). There is extensive Lake-themed decor so please use care with small children.
Neighbors do walk up and down the usually quiet street and sometimes drive golf carts, please keep the same environment around neighborhood.

Other amenities? Enjoy two large balconies with views towards lake, "Blast" FAST speed Wifi and two LARGE HD 4K TVs with Disney+, YouTubeTV (same as cable TV) and Netflix, gorgeous kitchen, fireplace, double garage, friendly neighbors, and many, many other amenities.

What does view towards Lake Michigan mean? The Lake House sits about five minute walk from the top of the bluff. You can see Lake Michigan at the end of the street and through the trees from the balconies. Please do not expect the home to sit just behind the beach.

Community beach access can vary greatly due to nature, weather and construction. While the home is deeded to a private community beach, we absolutely cannot guarantee Lake Michigan beach access at any given time. If this risk to too high, please consider a different listing. Access to the beach is especially difficult to know months ahead of time. However, as of June 1 2022, the stairs to the beach are open!

Other things to note
Our community stairs down to our PRIVATE beach are often under construction to make adjustments to address the natural Lake bluff movement. The community stairs are constantly under construction- similar to the cathedral in Barcelona. We can’t promise they will be open at any given time because it’s out of our control due to Lake Michigan conditions and Mother Nature. While the home is deeded for the beach stairs (which are currently under construction), the home does NOT have the $20,000 deed to the electric beach trams and it’s key- which is rarely available. Again, the home does not have a beach tram key. If the stairs are under construction there is no way to go down to the private beach. If the stairs are available, you are in business! As of June 1, 2002 the stairs are open! But please don't depend on the stairs being operational and having access to the private beach. We do not want you to be disappointed because the weather has caused the stairs to be out of order and they are being constructed at any given time. Again, as of June 1, 2022 the stairs are open.

There are many attractions, wineries, hikes, state parks, restaurants and many, many beaches nearby in South Haven and surroundings.

Things to do in driving minutes:

Kal Haven Tailhead (7 mins) Great place to bike, run or walk while enjoying the well maintained and beautiful scenery.

The Mitten Children’s Museum (8 mins) Features Michigan-themed play activities for children of all ages and abilities.

Michigan Maritime Museum (9 mins) Great lakes and cultural exhibits showing boating history. They also have a store and a research library.

Liberty Hyde Bailey Museum (9 mins) History if the Michigan Agriculture, beautiful gardens and seasonal woodlands.

The Fun Park (11 mins) Amusement park with go karts, mini golf, arcade games and BBQ.

Kid’s Corner (12 mins) Fun playground and picnic areas.

South Haven Lighthouse (13 mins) Historical mark since 1872, this traditional red lighthouse offers beautiful views and fishing is allowed.

Van Baren State Park (14 mins) Lakeside park with sand dunes and woodland trails, features picnic area with grill and modern campsites

Sarett Nature Center (27 mins) Great trails to hike and experience cross country skiing, they also have a butterfly house, a playground and a mini zoo.

Degraaf Nature Center (29 mins) 18 acre nature preserve that features an interpretative center with exhibits, live animals and gifts.

Grocery Shopping: A Maijer and an Aldi are located about 9 mins from the home.

SKIING:

Bittersweet Ski Resort (38 mins) 20 runs of varying grades and snowboarding training park. Lessons and American food available.
Timber Ridge (40 mins) Offers skiing lessons, snowboarding and tubing runs. They have a little shop and snack area.

Swiss Valleyski Snowboard Area (1hr and 12 mins) small downhill ski resort with tubing and fat biking in winter, and zip line and hiking during the summer.

Michigan Hollow Ski Bowl (1hr and 10 mins) Ski and snowboard area with 11 runs and 2 terrain parks.

There is one security camera. It is a Ring doorbell on 2nd floor balcony. The Ring is on exterior and faces street. The Ring doesn’t have recording enabled and is triggered by a doorbell push or motion. Theres no cameras inside home. There is a non-camera motion detector on first floor near garage.

Wash and place in running dryer a load of towels
Pile sheets and blankets from used beds by the washer
Bath and other remaining towels used should be left on the edge of the tub
Wash kitchen items used, (you may leave dishwasher running)
Trash should be placed in bins outside (Read note below)
Turn off all lights and fans when you are not home

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT TRASH:
Please place trash cans out Sunday night. Please avoid putting them out Saturday night or during the day on Sunday. Please bring them in on Monday afternoon. This is very important so trash doesn’t build up. Please make sure that trash is bagged and will not blow out of the cans into the yard and environment. If you have Sunday-Monday as part of your stay and forget to put out the garbage the maid service charges a $50 fee to dispose of it. The maid service also charges extra if you leave dirty dishes or if extensive cleaning is required (i.e. food on the walls, staining furniture, very dirty kitchen etc.). REMEMBER NO PARTIES ALLOWED AND NOT PETS OF ANY KIND.
