Hot tub is always on (we don't turn it off). Please be aware that given the hot tub water could be changed as needed, the mountain water is extremely cold and it will take 10-12 hours to heat up and longer in winter time. In that case, it maybe not hot enough when you check in in the afternoon and you may not enjoy the hot tub on the 1st night (if we drain the water that day). No need to change the hot tube temperature settings. The shower handle can be a bit tricky—turning it to the maximum actually makes the water colder. While we don't supply firewood for the fire pit, there are numerous places to buy it on the side of the road on the honor system (bring cash) or at local gas stations/carry-outs. Please prepare for mosquitos in summer time. Environment Notice: Our home is nestled in nature, and occasionally, 'nature' finds its way inside. We make efforts to control pests with professional services, however, we cannot totally exterminate the bugs/rodents. We try our best to get rid of them and appreciate guests’ understanding. As we coexist with the environment, we kindly request keeping doors closed to minimize encounters. Our drive way is flat and short. We provide snow removal for snowfall over 3 inches. The county crew plow the paved road well in snow days. Our cabin uses well water, typical for the Hocking Hills area. It may have a natural odor since it's not treated with chlorine like city water. Bottled water can be purchased at a gas station or grocery, and we provide a filtered pitcher for your convenience. Since our cabin is nestled beside a scenic creek and Hocking Hills weather can be unpredictable, occasional flooding may occur following heavy rain or severe weather. The water usually recedes within a few hours, allowing things to return to normal quickly. We rented the cabin because we wanted to experience hiking in Hocking Hills. Loved the cabin! My kids were so excited to stay in the loft and our bedroom was wonderful-the forest mural on the wall is great.Kitchen had everything we needed and the bathroom was well stocked with towels! Great cabin with wonderful amenities, great location to the Hocking Hills parks and Conkle's Hollow. The grill worked great and the hot tub is great after a long day of hiking to recharge and recover for the following days. The beds are very comfortable as well and the air helps for those hot days.
