When you stay in Expedition Station, you’ll enjoy the convenience of the Village shops and restaurants, the full-service ski equipment rental shop on the main floor of the building, and you’ll be able to walk out the door and right onto the slopes! Expedition Station 224 features a kitchenette with a microwave, fridge (please note this is a mini fridge), a two-burner range, and has all the basics you'll need to prepare, cook, and serve a delicious meal. Within the cozy space, you’ll find plateware, utensils, pots and pans, coffee maker, and toaster. Or, if you’re tired of preparing your own meals, consider a short stroll to the magical Snowshoe mountain top Village, just steps from your property, to peruse its numerous shopping and dining options. For your relaxation, comfort, and a peaceful night of sleep, the studio has a King bed and a sleeper sofa for additional sleeping capacity. You’ll enjoy views of the slopes where you can anticipate your next day’s adventures! This property will make you feel like it’s your home away from home and will quickly become your favorite vacation spot. THE RESORT: At 4,848 feet, Snowshoe Mountain has the best skiing south of Vermont and east of Colorado, and is the perfect all-season destination in West Virginia’s Allegheny Mountains. You’re sure to find activities and adventures to keep all your family members happy. ● Winter – With an average yearly snowfall of 180 inches, the mountain offers 250 acres of skiable terrain, 61 slopes, 12 lifts, night skiing in Silver Creek, and five terrain parks for all skill levels. When you feel like taking a break from skiing or snowboarding, consider the many other activities available such as the Coca-Cola tubing park, Polaris RZR tours, snowmobile tours, horse-drawn sleigh rides, and the Snowshoe spa, to name a few. ● Summer – Enjoy the Snowshoe Bike Park with 40 downhill trails. But, please, no parties in the condo. ● Free bus shuttles are available from the Village to Top of the Mountain, the Western Territory, and to Silver Creek for night skiing. ● If you need additional accommodations, please ask me about my other condos on the Snowshoe Mountain Resort. PETS: We absolutely adore our furry friends and wish you could bring them with you. Unfortunately, Expedition Station does not allow guests to bring pets of any type. As such, we have to insist you find alternative accommodations for your pets. However, if you have a certified Service Animal, let us know ahead of time so we can accommodate you. EARLY CHECK-IN: While we know you are excited to kick off your vacation, please note I cannot guarantee check-in prior to 5:00 PM. I may be able to accommodate your request for an earlier check-in as long as the room is clean and set up. LATE CHECK-OUT: Unfortunately, these are not possible. We have stayed at Expedition Station in the past and the convenience of the locker room opening onto the slopes cannot be understated. Best option for ski in ski out when combined with access to the village. Check in at Allegheny Springs is annoying but a known evil and this year the wait was only a few minutes. This unit is as listed and was clean. New locks on the doors with codes vs. key cards are pretty nice even though you need a card to get into the building. Communication from hosts was also great. Personal preference but my husband and I were miserable because of the super soft bed and didn’t sleep at all. I don’t think this deserves losing a star since I’m sure some people like a soft bed but definitely something to note for potential renters, especially since you’ll be tired after skiing.
