![Snaresbrook Crown Court. The building was originally constructed as the "Infant Orphan Asylum" on the instigation of a Congregationalist Minister, Andrew Reed, to provide help and protection for middle-class fatherless children without adequate means of support. When the foundation stone was laid in 1841, Prince Albert performed the deed and the event attracted all the great and the good from Victorian society. The architect was Sir Gilbert Scott and the building was completed and opened in 1843, again by Royalty, in this case King Leopold of the Belgians. The asylum housed up to 600 children who had to be elected for admission by voters, a procedure that continued until 1947. The asylum was later renamed the Royal Wanstead School and became a grammar school after the 1944 Education Act. However dwindling school numbers and a lack of funding eventually forced its closure in 1971. « Nous sommes arrivés à 22h, l'ambiance autour de l'hôtel faisait peur, plein de gangs autour des casinos en face de l'hôtel criait et nous faisait peur, on avait juste envie d'entrer à l'hôtel de ne pas sortir. Sinon, à l'intérieur de l'hôtel le tout est excellent et le personnel à la réception est extraordinaire. En matinée, le tout est normal :) »

"Hôtel idéalement placé, plein cœur de Londres avec toutes les commodités autour pour pouvoir se déplacer correctement. Au cœur de Picadilly Circus, à deux pas de Oxford Street, Chinatown, Soho et Carnaby. Je recommande vraiment !!! Seul point négatif sur la partie douche, un pommeau de douche serait préférable plutôt qu’un support de type cascade. Mais le reste de la chambre est Top. "

"Thank you for a wonderful stay! I was very impressed by the quality of the welcome we received. All the staff went out of their way to make us happy. We were able to check into our room early, and it was magnificent, located on the top floor of the hotel. I wasn't expecting such a spacious, modern, and beautiful room. I contacted the hotel several times via WhatsApp and the website to get information and report a few issues, and I always received a quick response. When the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night by mistake, we were quickly informed of this by text message, which was much appreciated. I would like to thank the hotel once again, especially Lisa, who was professional and very kind throughout my stay. I will recommend this hotel and will gladly stay there again! "

"The staff was incredibly nice. Special mentions to Jameela (spelling might be off) for being incredible and arranging super smooth early check-in, and to Sodiq for all his help and kindness. Everyone here does their best to help you and arrange what you need. The location is also hard to beat: 1 min away from High Street Kensington, which is both a station on the circle and district lines, and a street full of good restaurants (Yashin is pretty top notch) "
