The staff were wonderful from the moment we arrived and were very apologetic when the lift unfortunately broke down during our stay. These things happen, but they went the extra mile by leaving a lovely fruit bowl and gift for my children as a token of their apologies. I stayed in a slightly different location on my last visit to Singapore, but the Village Residence was by far in a better spot. Brrkafast during the week is basic, but has what you need to start the day. The kitchen and laundry facilities allowed us to be self sufficient when we needed to be and we all had plenty of space. The apartment was very clean and serviced regularly. The views from the balcony and windows are sensational and the super friendly staff immediately available 24/7. The complimentary breakfasts on weekdays were also great for ensuring everyone started their day with a full fuel tank. The location is perfect for walking into the centre of the city along the river, or catching a train or bus to wherever you want to visit. We had a studio which was shockingly large even by U.S. standards for 8 comfortable days. Location was great right in the middle of Robertson Quay and River Valley as well as Clarke Quay and Fort Canning park. Dining choices were great, with numerous restaurants just downstairs in the square as well as the river walk along Robertson Quay. Also it's not too close to Clarke Quay which I find to be a blessing given how touristy and noisy it is. 5 min walk to the MRT station as well as walkable distance to Orchard road and Raffles city.
