« Had a great time! My wife and I took three of our grandkids to visit the Ape Cave, and Mt St Helens, which are both about an hour to 1.5 away. The house was great. Very comfy, and stocked with everything we needed. Castle Rock is a short 10-15 min drive, and Kelso not much further if you need a mall or movie theater. It is right on the lake, with it’s own private dock. There is a 15’ canoe for your enjoyment as well. »

« My family stayed over Thanksgiving break. There was a window of fantastic weather with clear skies. We would start the day with coffee on the porch, watching the ducks play in the lake. Then we daytripped to Portland to hike. We drove up towards the mountains for breathtaking views of Mt Ranier and Mt St Helens. Then we would come back and cuddle up by the fireplace. Kara's home feels just like that - home. We would love to go back there next winter, or even during the summer to enjoy the lake....

« Cabine très propre et très bien équipée, procédure d'accueil tardif simplissime (une enveloppe avec le plan du site et les clés de notre cabine nous attendait dans une boîte à lettres à l'extérieur de la réception). Je m'attendais à autre chose de l'environnement. Je pensais avoir une vue dégagée sur un lac, alors qu'en fait la vue sur le plan d'eau était assez limitée (bouchée par des arbres). Avant de réservez là, sachez que vous serez dans un camping, à proximité immédiate d'autres cabines...

« I stayed here for a couple days for a work assignment. Overall the stay was great, as others have said, the cottage has some uneven floors and the bathroom is tiny, but it did what it needed to. Very comfortable bed and offstreet parking was the key for me. »

« What a beautiful, clean property. We stayed in suite c and had everything we needed. The views from our room were stunning from the large windows. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Washington. Judy was very responsive to text messages and helped answer any questions we had. « We drove up from Portland and although the drive wasn't long it really felt like we were out in the country. The atmosphere was relaxing and cozy. The hosts were informative, friendly and unobtrusive. I think staying 2 nights would have been even better than our 1. »

Be aware there is not a door to the very large master bathroom so you can see someone sitting on the toilet from the king bed! — a bit weird for a house that was recently remodeled and the owners clearly spent a lot of money to do so. Kalama has interesting spots to take in and the drive to Multnomah Falls and Mount St. Helen’s was easy. The host was easy to communicate with and we loved our stay there.
