Step onto the peaceful patio amidst towering ponderosa pines, where you'll find a gas BBQ grill and comfy patio furniture, ideal for outdoor dining & unwinding under the stars. Endless opportunities for exploration. Spirit Canyon Pictograph Trail and Lake Roberts are just a short walk away. Unplug, recharge, and reconnect with nature at this rustic retreat—your adventure awaits! We give our guests privacy, but are available if needed via messaging. Please let us know if there is anything on the property needs our attention. The house is located about an hour north of Silver City in the quiet community of Lake Roberts Heights. It overlooks a small Lake Roberts neighborhood in the valley below. There are a few homes that are further up the gravel road that runs by the house, so a few cars per day may pass by the cabin (though some days there will be no cars going by!). It's a quiet area, so please keep the noise level down as those who live out here enjoy the peaceful environment surrounding them (and we hope this is what you are also seeking!). Definitely no parties allowed. The Lake Roberts General Store are is about 2 miles away (on the other side of the lake) and is open seasonally (April-September). The 4Seaysons RV & Country Store is located about 13 miles east toward Mimbres and carries a pretty good supply of basics, homemade ice cream, delicious burritos, and fishing supplies/bait. You can walk to Lake Roberts through the Upper End Campground that's about 1/4 mile. Spirit Canyon Pictograph trail is just a few hundred feet from your doorstep... as is the Gila National Forest. The nearest large airports are El Paso TX (3-hour drive) and Tucson AZ (4-hour drive). However, there is a small airline (AdvancedAirlines.com) that flies into Grant County Airport in Silver City from Phoenix, Albuquerque, and Los Angeles at a very reasonable rate. Rental Cars are available at the Grant County Airport through Silver Car Rental at 575-574-2350 (must reserve in advance). Grant County Airport is about 50-60 minutes from the cabin. Please take note that this is a fairly remote location. It is an hour from Silver City (32 miles); 19 mies to Gila Hot Springs; 24 miles from Gila Cliff Dwellings; and walking distance to Gila National Forest and Lake Roberts. The nearest gas station and grocery store is in Silver City, so be sure to bring food and fuel up on the way up! Also please note that the road up to the cabin is a steep climb for a several hundred feet on fairly loose gravel. We recommend a 4WD. Lots of barking dogs in neighborhood so sleep with windows closed. Lots of mice inside so keep all food in refrigerator and rewash all dishes and kitchen counters before use. Bathroom is spacious but shower is tiny. I knocked my elbows against shower walls washing my hair and I couldn’t bend over to shave my legs and I’m a small woman. We had a sisters hiking trip to the Gila Cliff Dwelling area and it was a great location for us. The view from the deck is breath taking and the deer, quail, chipmunks, and hummingbird feeder just add another layer of beauty. It is a very peaceful place.The kitchen is well stocked and there’s a nice grill on the deck. There are nice bathroom and bedroom linens. It is obvious that the owners put thought into supplying the property.As advertised - the property has 1 bathroom - so for 4 women that was a bit of a challenge but it worked out.Our observations: the road in to the property and the driveway are a bit steep but the driveway is a circle drive and can be navigated - carefully. The bed in the smaller bedroom is very hard - I know some people like that but it was not comfortable for us.We had a lovely time and enjoyed the stay. ##### Debra M. The view from the deck is by far the highlight, with amazing views of the valley and cliffs during the day and silent, serene stargazing at night. The house is very clean with no bugs or signs of age, and everything feels well-kept and cozy.Cooked several meals in the kitchen, which is very well equipped. Brought a lot of my supplies in, but was very pleasantly surprised to find coffee, tea, and some spices already stored. The only things I were unable to find were a potato peeler and a strainer, but these were both minor missing pieces. The bed in the master suite is very comfortable and the suite in general is very cozy. The extra TV space is an amazing touch, which I can see being especially good for families with children/teens who want to send their kids away while sitting in the living room/patio. I do wish there was space for a TV in the living room, although I like not having it in there by default. But given that there’s a spare tv in the master closet, having space to place it should you want to get it out would be awesome. The only thing even close to negative is that the shower is very small. While this worked just fine for me (an average height/weight man), this may be a drawback for larger/taller individuals or people with claustrophobia. That being said, the bathroom is extremely clean and well put together.Absolutely loved my time here and plan on returning in the near future! ##### Jeffrey K.
