Favorite part was the view! We spent a day up in Grand Marais, as well as checking out a couple state parks. One day we didn't drive anywhere, just took a walk around the cabin. A very relaxing day for sure! It was so nice to be able to bring our dog with too. The cabin is so well stocked and we loved being able to have a bonfire a couple times during out stay. Came during March in Minnesota, so it was rainy and snowing. Don't know if they had any salt as I couldn't find any, so it'll be nice to keep some during the winter and early spring season. Cabin was clean and warm. The patio door was tricky to close after opening but we eventually got it to lock. The view was spectacular, overlooking lake Superior and highway 61\. Location of the cabin is good too, literally right next to splitrock lighthouse and gooseberry falls and tettogouche State Park. It is very close to state parks and trail heads for the Superior Hiking Trail. We enjoyed making breakfast in the full kitchen, hiking several hours, finding a local restaurant for a late lunch then reading out on the deck. The weather was unseasonably warm the week we were there, so we spent quite a bit of time outside. The beds and furniture were all very comfortable. And the kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals. Bonus points for a dishwasher in the kitchen which is rare in a north shore house.
