Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds Ensuite: Walk-In Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Air source heat pump and underfloor heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair available on request. Large enclosed front garden with garden furniture and barbecue. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: Access to property is via a 1-mile unpaved farm track. This property has a natural water supply via a borehole. There are steps in the garden.. The Retreat - an accessible eco home, stands as a purpose-built haven meticulously crafted by the owner with accessibility in mind. Nestled within the serene Rockenhayne in Branscombe, this dwelling is a testament to thoughtful accessibility. The property is rooted on a site with a dwelling history dating back to the 9th century.  
  
Strategically positioned just a mile away from the A3052 coast road, The Retreat offers tranquillity within a 10-minute drive to local villages, towns and amenities, making it an ideal retreat. Welcoming furry friends, the accommodation is exceptionally pet-friendly.  
  
Constructed with locally sourced timber and employing local craftsmanship, The Retreat embodies eco-friendliness with solar-powered electricity, heat-exchange underfloor heating, and its own spring water supply. Waste is efficiently managed through composting, complemented by two beehives in the vegetable garden. Natural cleaning products further contribute to the property’s sustainability.  
  
The Retreat comprises two thoughtfully designed bedrooms catering to diverse needs. The master bedroom boasts an en-suite wet room, balcony doors opening to a decked area overlooking the valley, and ample storage. The twin bedded room features an en-suite shower room. Both bathrooms include various accessible features, such as wall-mounted shower seats and commode shower seats on wheels. Hoists and articulating beds are available for hire if needed. The open-plan living space seamlessly integrates a kitchen, dining area and spacious lounge with folding doors that open to the outdoors. A large, decked area with outdoor seating and a private fenced lawn for dogs enhances the connection with nature. For larger groups, there are additional holiday homes on the same site provide ample accommodation options; Rockenhayne Farmstead - Clock Cottage, Rockenhayne Farmstead – Maple Tree Cottage. Situated in rural Branscombe, The Retreat combines the charm of the countryside with proximity to the seaside. Local points of interest include Cadhay and the Marine Theatre, while outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the Salcombe Hill Walk and Castlewood Vineyard. If you’re travelling with children, attractions like The Donkey Sanctuary and Pecorama offer family-friendly experiences.
