I was going to be out and about most of the time so just needed somewhere convenient . The property had recently been taken over so I suspect the new owners are still to put their own stamp on it. I had a friendly greeting and the check-in was fine aside from a question over amounts already paid (an Expedia issue, tut tut). The room was in decent order, with sheets and towels crisp, clean and white. There were a few areas that could do with a bit of maintenance or a tidy up but on the whole good value for money. I only ate breakfast there so for £10 there was cereals etc, but I just had the full english (sausage, 2 bacon, 2 fried eggs, 2 hash browns, beans and mushrooms, may have been black pudding too) toast and fresh coffee. No complaints at all with the breakfast. The car park at the back had plenty of space with easy access to the guest rooms through a locked back door. The road at the front can be quite noisy but not so bad at night.
