Located just 7 miles outside of Seward Alaska in the Bear Lake subdivision. Tiehacker Lodging is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Alaska. Guests can hike the nearby trails, watch the eagles soar, view fish and sometimes bears at the Bear Lake Weir, or visit any of the many local attractions. An upstairs apartment with 1200 square feet of private space. We offer our guests clean, comfortable and spacious accommodations. The apartment features 3 bedrooms,1 bathroom, a full kitchen, dining room, living room and laundry. We will do our best to help you enjoy your visit to beautiful Seward Alaska! This is an upstairs apartment. Owners reside in the apartment below the unit. In previous years the lower unit was the rental. All reviews dated prior to 2022 were related to the lower unit. Please note that the stated room rate is based on double occupancy (2 people). Nothing special but it did the trick. It's worth noting there are no blackout curtains in the bedroom. This posed a little difficulty when putting our infants down since it doesn’t get dark until midnight or later. It does seem silly to charge an additional 25 per person per night after 2 guests when the property listing say it’s sleeps 6\. Seems like the owner/listing is trying to be tricky - why not just increase the overall price, or drop the number of guests it’s sleeps on the listing? Only mentioning bc this was overlooked when we booked and were a little blindsided by it. It was easy to get to town- dinner, coffee, grocery, shopping- and the park so that was a plus. Note the owner is on site so if you don’t mind running into them while you’re hanging out, it’s worth booking. ##### Liz D. We really wanted to visit the Kenai National Park on foot and by boat. We enjoyed being tourists in Seward, visiting the small shops, coffee houses, Aquarium and had a nice seafood dinner. The property was functional but less inviting compared with other properties we stayed in. For example, on entering the property there is a rather small area to remove shoes (Alsakan practice) with a metal folding chair. The first night was chilly, and the comforters were too light for us. We had to take a blanket from the living room and found another in the laundry room to keep warm. The bathroom was quite small for our group of 5\. Nonetheless, given the options for accommodations in the area and the access the property provided to this part of Alaska, I don't regret staying there. ##### Ashia D. Very comfortable and spacious. It is a perfect location if you like to hike and enjoy nature as it is a short walk to some nice trails. The hosts are very nice and accommodating. It is also a short drive to Seward which is a great town and the center for all your activities. I will stay here again. ##### James C.
