Small front garden and courtyard seating. Rear patio with sitting out area. Outdoor heated swimming pool (shared with owner, open May to September, weather permitting, 08:00 - 20:00). Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. Escape to the serene haven of ‘Havre De Calme’, a delightful, one-bedroom holiday lodge nestled in the picturesque village of Halstead, near Sevenoaks in Kent. This charming retreat offers a perfect blend of tranquillity and convenience, inviting couples and solo travellers to experience a truly relaxing getaway.  
  
Step inside this cosy abode and you’ll instantly feel the soothing ambience that Havre De Calme exudes. Surrounded by open farmland, lovers of wildlife may even spot badgers, deer and an abundance of bird life from your bedroom window. The tastefully decorated living space welcomes you with its comfortable furnishings and ample natural light that filters through the double-aspect windows, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.  
  
The kitchenette is thoughtfully equipped, allowing you to prepare your favourite meals at your leisure. The inviting bedroom features a plush queen-sized bed adorned with soft linens, promising nights of restful sleep. The modern bathroom ensures your convenience and privacy, equipped with all the amenities you might require. A highlight of Havre De Calme is its access to a shared swimming pool. Take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters on sun-drenched days or bask in the sun by the poolside, surrounded by lush greenery that enhances the peaceful ambience.  
  
A well-stocked and licensed village shop, open 7 days a week, is just a short stroll from the property. There are several well-stocked pubs within a mile or so offering fine ales and a friendly atmosphere. Edith Nesbit (author of The Railway Children) grew up in Halstead in the 1870s and her wanderings close to the local railway line may well have inspired her 1906 classic. The well-known North Downs Way offers spectacular views and a fascinating heritage, passing through the nearby Kent Downs Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The following part of the trail incorporates the historic Pilgrims Way and the heights of the top of the Downs.  
  
The nearby farm hosts an annual (April) ’lambing day’ and country market in the field directly opposite the property. Featuring a tractor display, local food and drink and lambs to meet, this is a great day out for all the family. Halstead’s charming lanes, historical architecture and friendly locals attract many cyclists, ramblers and dog walkers to explore and create lasting memories. From strolls in the countryside, to immersing yourself in local markets, there’s something for every type of traveller.
