"Home away from home! As someone that doesn't leave reviews often is well travelled ( 12 countries last year alone!) and fussy about where I lay my head for a good nights sleep I cannot recommend Rooftop enough. not only is it a beautiful space and environment its also the people that work there the owner, security the staff and bar team are all incredible no ask is too big or too small and they will go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay. "I stayed here for nine nights and slept well on a comfortable bed. The transfer to and from the airport was excellently arranged. Breakfast was good, the surroundings were peaceful, and the rooms are spacious and beautiful. In addition, the staff is friendly and helpful. This was my second stay here and I would gladly return. Highly recommended."

"A Gem; construction at Kalimba so they rebooked us at the adjacent Kamara resort. Great property: aircon nice and cold, good breakfast offering, tasty food at restaurant. Front desk staff helped in arranging a driver to visit monkey park, crocodile pools, city tour, and car to airport. Would love to go back. Only nit I have is provided toiletries were skimpy"

"We stayed in a ground floor apartment with direct pool access ,which had plenty of room. It was kept really clean by the fabulous staff three times during our ten night stay.The furnishings did not quite live up to the pictures ,as things were showing quite a lot of wear and tear ,but overall it was comfortable enough. The bathroom had a large walk-in shower and always had plenty of hot water, with very good pressure. WiFi didn't work at first,but this was soon rectified by the staff,and was really good and could easily be accessed around the pool area as well. The pool was excellent, very big and cleaned scrupulously every day. Sun loungers were very comfortable, although not always enough of them. The location of the apartment was spot- on,right at one end of the strip,within easy walking distance of many bars,restaurants and the beach."

"Room was spotless, fully equipt with everything you could need. Quick assistance with safe (which is free) and arrival bottle water which wasnt in the room. Morning sun and afternoon shade on balcony. Insect layer to sliding doors meaning you could still let air in the room. Great aircon in room. Pool is freezing but still usable due to warm temperatures outside. Felt safe and secure. Would visit again and was a fabulous stay. "

"A 5-star hotel with a 2-star overbooking issue. (Note: many guests were faced with the same problem we had.) We arrived at Kombo Beach Hotel at 2 am on a Saturday night with our two children, tired from the late night flight, but eagerly awaiting the superior room we booked for a week's stay months in advance, only to be told that there was no room for us. Imagine, landing in a new country in the middle of the night, to be told that the room you paid for was not available and that there were NO OTHER ROOMS IN THE HOTEL FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!! The front desk staff then explained to us that they would put us in a neighbouring hotel overnight and that we could speak to the manager the next day at 10 am. We were not satisfied with this but had no choice as we were effectively homeless and so we relunctantly took this option. After walking a few meters down the road to a neighbouring hotel, arrangements were made, and we were checked in and lead to the room in this new hotel. Imagine our surprise that, after booking a superior room at Kombo Beach, the room were put in to stay had no wifi, no TV, full of mosquitoes and a rickety bunk bed that my children could not even safely sleep in!!! We coped over night thanks to our resilience and mosquito spray and went back the next day to speak the manager, who then told us to come back later on in the day. This unfortunately did not change anything as apparently the room we had booked was given to someone else."
