Our stay at Hotel Orso Grigio was wonderful. We stayed in the summer and enjoyed the Dolomites for hikes and sightseeing. The hotel is in a great area, very close to both the west and the east Dolomite landmarks and sights, but outside of the busy city vibe of Cortina D’Ampezzo. The town is rural and quiet but has all the basic stores, restaurants and necessities. It provides the vibe that one would expect when visiting the Alps. There is a bus stop right outside of the hotel. We had a car so I am not sure where the bus goes but I would assume it’s for local traffic and not sights. The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The staff was helpful and kind. They have 3 different saunas and a pool/jacuzzi which was well maintained and clean. The restaurant has very good food, one of the best in the area. Breakfast was a delicious abundant buffet and dinner is a prefix menu, on the fancy side. All local hotels offer this type of dinner option only. To eat a la carte you should visit a Refugio. Across the street of the hotel is a ski lift to the top of Mt. Fertazza. I highly recommend this trip. It has a splendid view of both valleys, surrounding mountains, some easy hikes on top, and a great Restoro Belvedere that serves truly delicious authentic Alpine food with exceptional service. Overall our experience at Hotel Orso Grigio was excellent and we would return again.

Beautiful hotel opposite the ski lift

A fabulous stay with a warm welcome, spacious rooms and stunning food with great attention to detail. The spa is luxurious and a real treat after skiing. The price for dinner, B&B over the Christmas period was very reasonable, especially considering that the meals are 4 courses, prepared with skill and excellent service. Highly recommended.
