But my favorite parts of Sedona are the little known secret places, that you can explore and experience without the crowds. This gem is one of those secret locations. Sedona almost never gets snow, and when it does snow, it rarely sticks. So when a giant snow storm shut down the whole city last winter, we were dying to go out and get some epic snow pictures! Locals refer to this spot as the Birthing Cave. It is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy parts of the city. Full kitchen, dining area, living room, large bathroom and large bedroom. The furniture was "tired". The living room chairs have lost their firmness. The furniture was worn on the edges. Dresser drawers would not stay fully closed. That being said, the bed was comfortable and there was plenty of living space and everything was very clean upon arrival. Since we spent most of our time out and about, the quality of the living unit was acceptable. The patio overlooked the golf course and was a great space to have morning coffee. The office staff were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. There are a couple outdoor pools with plenty of seating. Pool towels were provided. The property is located in Oak Creek, a few miles south of Sedona. It is an easy drive, but during peak season the traffic is heavy. There are restaurants and shopping nearby in addition to the Sedona shopping areas.
