Gearhart, Cannon Beach, and Ecola State Park are all less than eight miles away as well. The weather forecast predicted mostly rain so we anticipated using the game room. However, the rain didn’t pour and it was partly sunny for our stay and we enjoyed walks along the beach sidewalk and grassy dunes to and from Seaside’s main street. It was a great stay! I must insist, however, that a light above the dining room table ought to be a “must have” in future. The hot tub was certainly a perk and much appreciated! The bathrooms need updated badly. For how much the property rents for, those things need addressed. Also, in the listing description there is a fire out and bbq. They had 5 propane tanks for those things, all of which were empty. Vacasa said that they didn’t provide propane for that location. We had a problem with check in because the game room code wasn’t provided. I picked the house because of the game room. We called the general Vacasa number and were on hold for about 30 minutes so hung up and used the text method. We received a text saying that amenity wasn’t included with the house. Meanwhile, we called the local number and received the game room (located in the garage) code. There were only two kitchen garbage bags and one small roll of paper towels so bring your own if you need more. The hot tub was great and we enjoyed the provided board games. Jul 22, 2025 #### For the price point a bit disappointing We rented this place admittedly without reading other reviews, and I wish I had. I’ll start off with saying that the house itself was fine. It was clean and mostly updated. The house was smaller than it appeared in the pictures taken with a wide angle lens. But everything worked well, the hot tub was nice and clean and the game room/garage was great as was the back yard area what it lacked in maintenance it provided in a nice bit of privacy.(Really if you don’t want to have to maintain a grass yard. Just put in rock or some other zero scape stuff. It looks better than dead grass!) The fire pit/table was a nice area with chairs to be able to enjoy the evening with our friends. And I was glad to be able to have my dogs outside and not worry about them getting out of the yard. I also appreciated that we could pull 2 of the cars inside the gated area. More on why later. The general location of the house was good in that we could easily walk to a nice stretch of beach, and direct access to the well known “boardwalk” in seaside, and there were a few restaurants and a nice local grocery store we frequented. An added bonus we didn’t know about until we got there was the proximity to a family owned 9hole golf course just a block away. We love to support any locals anywhere we go:). We could have walked to the broadway street area to do all the tourist shops and eateries, but we drove as it was a bit further than a couple members of our group was willing to walk. This was anticipated though. The downside of the location of the house is that it is obviously in an area with shall I say “sketchy” people who frequent it. Located across the street from a small apartment complex with people in and out all hours of the days and nights. One person had their large dogs in the car all night and half the day, thankfully it was not hot, but terrible all the same and the barked the entire time, can’t hardly blame them, poor dogs. We literally sat in the living room and watched them sell drugs when people would pull up the driveway and a person would come out, talk to them go back in to get “something” return to the car and “exchange” something for whatever they brought out. It was very obvious what was happening. Add that to the people screaming at each other in the street for an extended period one night. I was glad to have our dogs with us and this is why I appreciated being able to pull at least 2 cars into the gated area. While the house was fine and I appreciate all the plus sides to it, I would have to say for the price point I expected not to worry my car would be broken into, and that I hard to triple check that everything was locked up tight incase a neighbor decided to check out what the renters have available. ##### Megan H. ### 10/10 Excellent #### Yajaira V.
