Casa Arriba is made up big sunsets, gorgeous ocean views, lush jungle gardens and three separate casitas. Each is totally unique and has a private entrances and en-suite bathroom. Rent individual casitas, or all three to accommodate up to —and not exceeding — 7 guests. Stunning ocean-views and private balconies with sitting areas are featured in the upper two casitas, Azul and Tourquesa. Piedra, the third casita is on the main level. It's a colorful, castle-like, cool stone-wall room with high beam ceilings. The spacious community kitchen is on the main level and sits poolside. Enjoy various outdoor balcony lounge spots, and a refreshing dip pool. There are various patio spaces on two levels for yoga and hanging out, and a large outdoor dining /lounge table with seating for 8.
Located at the top of Nanzal Hill, a Tony area of high end housing, we are above the noise and congestion of town, but still close to stores, restaurants, and all the action. Our guests love the location and use the high hill as their daily exercise course. Not a walker? No sweat! Rental cars, golf carts and cabs are available. MORE ABOUT THE INDIVIDUAL CASITAS:
Guests always comment that the pictures don’t do the house justice. We think they do, so imagine if Casa Arriba is even better than depicted!
We provide guests with peace and privacy under separate roofs. The decor is organic and arty sophisticated, reminiscent of old Greece. It's similar to the house in the film “Mama Mia”. Every detail was designed by the owner and handmade by Mexican craftsmen without electric tools. Life exists outdoors on your private balcony or in the charming lush gardens and patios; an outside banquette and table offer room for your group to lounge and enjoy al fresco dining and the dipping pool. AC the three casitas is offered during summer for an extra fee.
The kitchen is a fully stocked, poolside kitchen. An 8-person dining table and indigenous, equipale chairs plus a counter with four chairs are perfect for individuals and groups. The kitchen is for guests and may be shared, however in 18 years we find that most guests prefer sampling the many delicious restaurants in town vs cooking. Coffee and tea are provided.
CASITA PIEDRA:
-Casita Piedra is a beautiful, cool, stone room on the main level with 1 queen and 1 single bed, mosquito netting, thick walls, a high beamed ceiling and a stone shower and antique copper sink outdoors.
CASITA TURQUESA:
-Casita Turquesa is on the upper level next to Casita Azul. It features romantic mosquito netting over the queen bed; a charming ensuite private bath; double closets, desk space / area to air or work, double French doors that open to the gorgeous ocean view, and a private balcony with sitting area. The large upper garden terraza with tropical plants is outside this casita and is perfect for yoga and/or lounging.
CASITA AZUL:
-Casita Azul is blue and white, reflecting the spectacular sky and ocean views. It features a comfortable queen bed with mosquito netting, an ensuite private bath, desk space or area to work / relax, spectacular ocean views, and a private balcony with sitting area.
*All casitas have pitched ceilings with unique patate mat impressions in the cement.
Location: Nanzal Hill
If you’re a fitness buff this hill is your dream. If not, rent a car or a golf cart, which is the standard and convenient way to get around Sayulita! Or, if on a budget, hire a taxi. Cabs are cheap and easy to find. Our guests prefer the beauty, peace, and quiet here — as do all who live on Nanzal. Just a 4 minute ride down the hill and you’re in town.
The neighborhood is upper crust with multi-million dollar houses and breathtaking views. Nanzal Hill is used as the unofficial exercise course for the pueblo, with two beautiful cobblestone roads for the 10 minute hike down to the playa and a hard hike up.
NOTE: the owner is tucked away onsite in her own private casita, which makes your stay easier and relaxing. She is available for suggestions and to help arrange things for guests, or if privacy is preferred, she will practically be invisible. She respects all guests needs and wants you to have fun on your vacation. *NOTE: For groups staying for two weeks or longer, arrangements can be made for owner to vacation elsewhere.
BONUS: The on-site La Palapa Galeria featuring the owner’s vibrant paintings and one-of-a-kind Surf Babes Sayulita neckpieces. All are for sale. Shipping available.
