At 5,000 square feet, The Metropolitan Loft embodies a true Manhattan-style loft experience with exposed beams, spacious windows & structural columns. Guests will enter off the street into a glam foyer, up a flight of stairs into the enormous living space. Center stage is the floating kitchen with custom oyster shell quartz countertops, Miele, Sub Zero & Wolf appliances. Behind the kitchen is an office/pantry area with built in desk & cabinets stocked for cooking or entertaining. The living room is lux, velvety and sprawling and curated with comfort in mind. Originally designed by Phoebe Howard for former owner/developer Ben Carter; she chose mid century Italian armchairs, a Danish rosewood console with midnight blue velvets that soften the minimalistic lines. Flanking the living room on either side you find the dining area that seat 8-10 and a private library with comfy seating and a desk for remote working. The library includes books about art and history and dozen or so, board games for some fun brain food. From the main living space, there are hallways on both sides that lead to bedrooms. On the right hallway, first is The Green Room with a queen size bed, closet and wall mounted tv. An elegant marble-tiled full-bathroom is across the hall. Next is The Master Suite with huge walk-in closet and a dreamy en suite bathroom. The Master bed is a king size with sofa seating & wall mounted TV. Note the hardwood floors were hand painted by local artist, Bob Christian in a dynamic geometric pattern with soothing hues of creams and blues. This leads to the divine master bath with a soaking tub and spacious walk-in shower. On the left side of the loft down the other hallway, you will find The Brick Bedroom, with exposed brick wall and king sized bed, smart TV and en suite bathroom. This blue bathing beauty has a walk-in shower. The laundry room is hidden behind gorgeous, vintage double doors. Aside from the usual washer & dryer, there is an EXTRA full sized fridge and a chest freezer! Next you find the Jack 'n Jill bedrooms with sliding "barn doors". On the left is Jill's Room with a full size bed & TV. Sliding pocket doors lead into the Jack 'n Jill bathroom that features a large shower/tub combo. Jack's room is on the other side with a king size bed & TV. \*\*NOTE: These bedrooms do not have doors to close off the bedrooms from each other; although the bathroom is large and in between the bedrooms, it fills the middle space nicely. NOTES: \*MINIMUM age to reserve is 25 years of age. NO EXCEPTIONS. \*NO BACHELOR/BACHELORETTE groups. NO exceptions! OCCUPANCY: We have a maximum capacity of 10 people (including children/infants) at ANY TIME, no exceptions. NOISE: This property is NOT PARTY friendly. We do NOT allow loud noise, music or PARTIES of any sort. Violators may be evicted and/or fined. \*The City of Savannah Noise Ordinance requires strict observance of QUIET TIME between 10 pm and 8 am. Savannah Police and the neighborhood strictly enforces this. Guests can be fined and/or EVICTED by the City and/or management. GARAGE: We have a private, SINGLE car garage for your use. This garage is VERY TIGHT, so oversized vehicles may be problematic. Note: There is NO elevator from the garage to the loft. The old freight elevator door is still in place but there is NO LIFT. Please don't leave a bad review because there is no elevator. You must walk from garage to the loft entrance. The garage is an unusual perk & gift in a part of town where parking is difficult to find! PARKING FOR ADDITIONAL VEHICLES: All of downtown has metered street parking. The City of Savannah uses Meter Pay Stations on each block. You can download the phone APP "Park Savannah" to pay meters from your phone, OR The Lincoln Street Parking Garage is one block east. OR Visitor Parking Day Passes are available for 24/48 hours. Contact the City of Savannah Parking Services for details. It’s a perfect location for walking around downtown Savannah and the water front . The apartment is gorgeous inside. Every room feels luxurious and the bathrooms are so nice! The loft and location were perfect. We used Savannah Tours for the hop-on / hop-off trolley tour (our driver Bonesy was entertaining & terrific!!!) one day, but Savannah is a wonderful and easily walkable city. The main living room area and kitchen are extremely spacious. There's tons of room for a large group and the layout is nice in terms of bedroom spacing and bathrooms. What wasn't great: The master bathroom is completely open to the master bedroom room so that's a little awkward b/c you have to shut the entire room off to be able to use the toilet in privacy. The bedrooms get extremely warm at night. There are rules that the AC can't be under 70 degrees, but the air centralizes in the living room and kitchen, so the bedrooms don't get cool very well. They provided fans but a few didn't work so some of the bedrooms were just stagnant and warm. This was a big disappointment for our group b/c everyone woke up hot each morning. The garage is connected to the building, but you can't access the condo from the garage. You have to put your car in, shut the garage and then walk around the corner to the door of the condo. Since you can barely open the car doors, you have to park your car in a paid lot, unload your stuff, then move your car to the garage, then go back inside. This wasn't an issue, but it should be mentioned that there is a steep stairway leading from the front door up to the living/kitchen area of the condo. The elevator is inaccessible so it could be a challenge for some folks. There are quite a few rules about what you can and can't touch within the condo, so I'd be wary of bringing children with a group. ##### Amber R. THIS PROPERTY WAS UNSAFE AND WITHOUT POWER. No resolution from the property. Arrived to the unit to discover there was no power which means no AC, no lights, etc. Obviously we immediately reached out to property manager listed on contact form and didn't get a response for awhile. In tandem we reached out to VRBO to inform them. After hours of back and forth with the property contact they told us Power was fixed. We had to leave the property bc it was unsafe to stay due to the high heat due to no AC and it was also pitch black and we couldn't see . When we returned to the unit after the contact told us the power was turned on, it indeed still had no power. We felt very unsafe and had no help from the property to get us to a new place. After almost 4 hours there was no resolution so we had to stay at a hotel and pay more per night than the unit cost to rent. Before we left we walked the building and saw that all other units including the restaurant had power so this was an issue specific to this unit. So while the pictures online look amazing - don't count on actually being able to stay there. Shame on this property for allowing us to check into a unit that was unsafe and not having a resolution. As a previous VRBO owner I would have immediately had guests in another unit or hotel and it would not have been a burden on them. They did offer to purchase our dinner, which we appreciate. I'll follow up to this review and let you know if that was covered once we submit the bill. I truly wish we had a different experience. ##### Kim K. We took our family of 10 on a trip to downtown and we walked in & our jaw hit the ground. This place is spectacular & HUGE. We loved the open living space that was plenty big for all of us. It’s so close to everything. It’s nice to have the 1 parking space plus easy paid parking all around. Customer service was fantastic! Would stay here again. ##### jenn p.
