It’s located on a beautiful private beach in a perfect location for watching the sunset in peace. The only downside was we were there for 6 days and no one came to clean our room. We asked but still no one showed up. Other than that it was perfect! The Flying Fishbone Restaurant (famous for dining with your feet in the water) is next door. The snorkeling was good and we saw a turtle. Took the Kayak out. Chef was awesome, friendly and informative...and made great open face omeletes every morning. Sea life right at the dock...crabs and plenty of fish, and iguanas living under the deck would come out and say hello. The owners are a family. They are around all the time and really care about how you are doing. This is on the quiet non-tourist side of the island. They have a chef who makes you omelets in the morning in a cabana right on the water. We particularly enjoyed being able to swim and snorkel from the small beach right off the dock. Chef Emile prepared us a fabulous surf and turf meal one evening, which was most enjoyable. The ease of access to the airport, the availability of parking, and the proximity to Mangel Halto and Baby Beaches all made my so glad I steered clear of the Eagle Beach hotel zone. Amazing family hotel! Not superfancy, but it has an incredible warmth. Chef will show you his sea aquarium, Roberto the iguana will wave at you from a safe distance and the kayaks are ready to be taken for a ride. Or just chill in one of the hammocks or sun beds! All the comforts of home/hotel without the enormous price. We will definately visit again. Breakfast on the water, prepared by a personal chef... white sand beach with crystal blue swimming area. Rooms are nice and remodeled. Floating massage 'deck', kayaks, snorkling gear, and more. We paid the chef to take us for a tour of the island, which he did so graciously. Didn't miss a thing, had personal treatment (and a/c) all at a reasonable price. Our room overlooked the Caribbean and we walked less than 100 ft to the water's edge. As a small place you are not fighting the crowds and with the included beach chairs, beach towels, snorkel equipment, and kayaks this was a perfect place to relax. Also breakfast was included every morning. It is close to 3 fabulous restaurants and within a short driving distance to Baby Beach, a must visit beach! This is a family run place and what a great family they are. Very friendly, helpful, (especially when we had a dead battery as we were departing for the airport) and accommodating. Everything was great for me. It is not right by the super touristy areas. It took me around 30 minutes to drive to Noord and 15-20 to Oranjestad. Then when I left to visit those areas I couldn’t wait to get back to Savaneta! I have to say that it was honestly difficult for me to leave the hotel in the first place because I loved it so much. There’s a selection of local and other restaurants and beaches near by. Flying Fishbone and Zeerover are just steps away. We were looking for something much quieter than the resorts that still had an ocean view, and we found it. The location was great. It was right on the beach with a beautiful view. The hotel had a very intimate feel and was very peaceful. Kayaks are provided so you can take a short trip to glass beach island. There is also snorkel equipment in your room. There is breakfast downstairs in an outdoor patio which was a great way to start your day with a gorgeous view. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and big. The property is away from the tourist section and authentic Aruba. The facility was clean. Snorkeling is available on site with basic equipment. Breakfast is prepared fresh each morning right on the water. The beach was lovely with chairs and hammocks. Highly recommend for a nice quiet stay in Aruba. Tip: Flying Fishbone is walking distance. To get the feet in the water seats, book a few months out. We celebrated our 25th anniversary with the bottle of prosecco they gave us and chose to spend most of our time just relaxing here. We snorkeled and took the available kayaks out. They even let us borrow fishing poles. I recommend the included breakfast every morning with coffee, juice, toast, fruit & homemade omelets. The wildlife of birds, fish, crabs & lizards on the deck are fun to watch. The room, bed & shower are quiet and comfortable. The view outside to the left and right is very beautiful. We even made reservations for a romantic dinner by the water with chef that included wine & dessert. Other restaurants were walkable like Flying Fishboone and we enjoyed the romantic Old Man & the Sea for dinner over the water in a bungalow. So even though we rented a car to drive round trip to the airport and explore Baby Beach, we just didn’t need to go very far from relaxing in the hammock at Serene By the Sea. Wonderful owners make it even more enjoyable. They even loaned us beach chairs, snorkel gear, towels and gave me fresh cut aloe for our sunburn. Pillows stained and worn. The mini fridge was not clean. Shower curtain fell off the wall when we touched it. Reported to staff but never fixed. The good: Beautiful views, on the water, some new cabana lounges, great breakfast included, quiet. Snorkel gear and kayaks available to enjoy.
