Wonderful Costa Rican Villa

An amazing home and location
I stayed for four nights with friends in late February. The condo is immaculate with everything you could ned for cooking and sea bathing. It is located in a gated community and is about a 3 minute walk to beautiful playa hermosa beach. Both the owner and property manager were gracious and so helpful. It was a perfect place to vacation.

Great vacation
Had a fantastic stay here. Property is a quick walk to the beach and while close to the Condovac where you can do more activities ans book tours, this rental is a nice quiet place. Would love to rent again!

Great vacation!
We enjoyed very much our stay. House is not new but has everything you need and everything worked well. Some construction noise nearby and traffic from the nearby street. House is surrounded by beautiful flowers and trees and many different types of birds. Great pool area and short walk to a nice beach. Owner and property manager very responsive.

I'm happy that you and your family enjoyed your stay at the fully equipped and functioning house. It's comfortable and convient for the guests. That's a plus having the pool just steps away from the front patio and a one minute walk to the beach! I'm sorry that there was unforetold noises outside the complex.

Wonderful Stay
We enjoyed our stay immensely! Lovely property. Spacious home. Beach is just across a small street. Condovac resort is next door so expect music from 8-10pm but also lots of fun if you want to join in on the party. Two breakfast spots within walking distance on the beach. Communication was quick and easy on WhatsApp with property manager. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Already dreaming of coming back!

Three weeks of heaven

Thank you for the nice review. As the title mentions the beach and the restaurants are about 50 meters away from Las Brisas (1 minute walk with a slight slope). The swimming pool is cleaned in the morning (6am) Monday-Saturday and great to take laps.

The best house we stayed in while in Costa Rica
My husband and I spoke with Leticia on the phone prior to going to Costa Rica (CR). She was polite, patient and helpful especially in telling us about the odds and ends of things we may have not even thought about related to going to CR from the USA. The add doesn't showcase the house enough. When we got there, it was like going home. The house was clean, ready to live in, well aerated, smells fresh, everything USA standard. Since we had already stayed at two previous houses prior to getting to Hermosa, comparatively, when we got there, it was like a breath of fresh air, like we were on a long, long trip and finally made it home. So thank you Leticia for opening your home so that we can enjoy all of its beauties and comfort. We treated it gently and would love to go back on our next excursion. I highly recommend this house.

Quiet, clean, safe
We enjoyed our stay. Property owners great to deal with, did not meet Property manager but was responsive to updates related to early check-out. Had late check in so no one showed up around villa but we managed. Pros: Gated, well maintained, private pool was AWESOME, clean, close to beach, Beach was lovely. villa has AC, wifi, ceiling fans, and everything we needed. walk-able to food and grocery stores for basics. Cons: Almost too quiet for young adults, minor nitpick - not enough toilet paper for 2 week stay, difficult to carry heavy luggage upstairs to bedrooms. twin beds room was hard to cool, resort next door was disappointing (bland and overpriced food/beverages, unfriendly to "guests", filthy pools).

We would do it again!
Spacious, clean, private, very safe, amazing pool! Everything worked: the ceiling fans, the stove, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, TV, hot water, washer and dryer, etc. It was a great place to be for a relaxing vacation. We would definitely choose to stay at this beach-side property again. Though it has nothing to do with the property, we would recommend renting a vehicle. If not renting one, use Costour (Pepito is the owner) for transportation and tours.

This wonderful condo was exactly as advertised! It had all the essentials we needed and was it was beautiful!! We loved it all. The pool in the morning and at night was fantastic. We also enjoyed the pool and swim up bar at the Condovac resort next door, which we were grated access to because we rented this condo. The beach was so close and we swam in the waves and snorkeled daily. We felt safe and comfortable in this complex. We’ll definitely be back! Thank you for sharing your condo!

Yes as my Guest you have complimentary access to the resort next door and it's amenities (pools,tennis/basketball courts,live music & dancing etc). It's good to know that you felt safe and comfortable in the condo and in the complex too.

Comfortable, clean, great location
The home is beautiful and clean, and the location is excellent. It really is just a short walk to the beach, about half of a US city block, slightly downhill. Of course, that means coming back from the beach is uphill, so people with mobility issues may have some problems. It isn´t terribly steep, but it is definitely uphill. The bedrooms in the home are upstairs. Air conditioners in the bedrooms work great, and the air conditioners in the rest of the house are pretty good. Bathrooms are large and nice. The pool is more private than it looks in the photos, used only by residents. The only people we saw using the pool were older women. We are older women too, so we felt very comfortable there. We did not use the pool much, though, because the beach was so close. There are restaurants within walking distance. One you pass on your short walk to the beach. The others are just down the street. A soda on the left hand side as you walk down from the villa is excellent. We ate there more than once. We watched a family of howler monkeys playing in the trees on that street one day. We enjoyed watching the birds from the downstairs patio. The place was easy to find. Wifi connection was great. The guard at the gate was friendly and made us feel very secure. He was always present and quick to let us in and out with a friendly wave and smile. I only have two things to quibble about regarding this home. First, when we arrived we were met by a teenage boy who handed us the keys, showed us where the air conditioner remotes were, and left. It would have been nice to have been shown around a little and given a brief orientation to the house, the villas, and the area. Second is the contract itself. I willingly signed it, so I knew what it contained, but after staying at this home and others on our trip, I find the cleaning requirements here a bit strict. No other home owner required us to perform any cleaning prior to leaving. Of course we had no problem removing our own trash, but being required to perform other cleaning under threat of having to pay a fee seems harsh. I would suggest to the owner that those cleaning requirements be removed.

Perfect location
This location was perfect. Beach was a very short walk across the street but close enough that you could let the sound of the ocean relax and put you to sleep at night. You wake up in the mornings to the sounds of the beautiful birds in the area and the howling monkeys. Monkeys were also seen several time from the villa windows. The villa was well equipped, very clean and comfortable. The management staff and owners of the property are very helpful should any repairs be needed. We would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a quiet relaxing getaway.

Excellent experience!
Pictures don't do this place justice! The condo is very clean, spacious, and safe. It is only one block to the beach! We debated to rent a place with a view or a place closer to the beach and were happy with our decision. From the condo, you can hear the waves crashing and howler monkeys. The pool is very nice, just steps from the condo. We swam every night after dinner, listening to monkeys and cooling off. There is 24/7 security at the condo complex. The guards don't speak any English but are friendly. Very safe...when we checked out, I realized I missed a patio door that had been unlocked the entire week! I checked doors every night before bed and thought we were locked tight so, it's safe there with barbed wire fencing around the perimeter. We cooked breakfast every morning and packed lunch for the day. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a washer/dryer. Next door you have access to the Condovac Resort beach with shade, lounge chairs, and access to boogie boards and medical if needed. You can ride the Condovac shuttle up the hill to amazing views, decent pool, and restaurant (woodfired pizza!). No shade at the pool though and it is very hot there! Drinks were just OK, nothing fancy. Playa Hermosa beach area was nice, several beach restaurants and a small grocery store. It is a black sand beach and so you can't see in the water and there are poisonous but not aggressive sea snakes on the beach. It is very hot so you need to be OK swimming with sea critters of all kinds (stingrays, jellys, snakes, etc). Lots of friendly and hungry iguanas to share your lunch with on the beach! We took a sailboat across the bay to snorkel where we saw dolphins swim along the boat, lots of fish, and monkeys in the trees. We rented a car at the airport and went on day trips. Condovac has a concierge to help book trips. We had a fabulous time at Las Brisas! Highly recommended.

Better than Advertised!
We were a group of six with two teenagers. The condo was ample room and the kitchen was well equipped. WIFI was good. Lots of space on the patio. The pool was great. The added bonus of being able to use the resort next door was excelllent. The beach was really 50m away and a great seafood restaurant 25m away. The beach is fabulous with excellent waves for body surfing and mother nature cleans it every night. Best beach we've been to in CR. We went down to beach for the sunset almost every night. This place comes highly recommended.

Amazing, wonderful, even better than the pictures, the pool was WOW, the villa was so big ans calm and safe and the owner thought of a few attentions which were much appreciated (flowers, crib, high chair, etc.). Not even a minute from a very nice redtaurant right on the beach and from the ocean. Access to the Condovac resort is very interesting as well for easy breakfast/lunch, pools, bars and activities. Would definitely recommend!

Spacious beach-side Villa: Las Brisas #2
My family of 5 (3 school aged boys) recently stayed 4 nights at Las Brisas Villa #2. The condo is spacious, clean, quiet, and a very short walk across the street to the beach. The kitchen is great and the washer/dryer so handy on a vacation to keep packing to a minimum. We enjoyed using the swimming pool and playing in the sand and waves at the beach. As noted, the unit is well stocked with beach towels, beach mats, and beach chairs. We also added two boogie boards after our stay that future guests can use! Initially we had a few small issues (patio door with broken lock and no way to secure it plus TV not working) but these were addressed and fixed the next day. The master bedroom A/C remote control is located on the back of the door, for your information, too! We ventured up to the Condovac Resort on foot (a steep walk!) and by the shuttle to use the more reliable internet, swim, view the sunset, play pool, and work out in the gym (great for Cross Fit types). While in Playa Hermosa we also went SCUBA diving with Rocket Frog Divers and took a trip to Rincon Vieja. Overall this was a wonderful family vacation, and Leticia's wonderful property was the perfect spot for our family of 5. Be sure to print our their directions with helpful information and contact information! Pura Vida!

Thank you for contributing the boogie boards for the future Guests. They will truly enjoy them. Yes there is complimentary access to the Condovac Resort next door for all my Guests to enjoy all the amenities. The Guests really love the beautiful views of Playa Hermosa from the Infinity pool. The trip to Rincon Vieja is always fun with different activities to do such as horse back riding, mud baths, tubing down Rio Negro and zip-lining. It's about a 30 minute drive from the town of Liberia. Please bring your family for more adventures in Costa Rica.

The perfect vacation! We loved this villa, The Las Brisas complex and staff, and Playa Hermosa!
The villa was perfect for our party of six (family with two teens, grandma and aunt) - spacious, clean and well-equipped. Communication with the owners and check-in was easy. The beach and restaurants were minutes away and access to Condovac was an unexpected bonus. Las Brisas and Playa Hermosa is an excellent vacation spot for travellers with tweens and teens or multiple families traveling together. Las Brisas backs up to Condovac with a calm beach adjacent. Everything is walkable and safe. I would feel comfortable letting my teens (in pairs or groups) go out and about. Thanks Leticia for having us!

Fabulous Condo Playa Hermosa
Great location for this big beautiful condo. One block from a beautiful, quiet beach this condo had everything we needed for a great stay at Playa Hermosa - wish we could have stayed longer than the 4 nights we had left in CR! The condo pool is a delight and the grounds and condo are beautifully kept. We used the Condovac infinity pool for a great sunset view overlooking the whole bay as well as eating at the great beachfront restaurants within easy walking distance. We loved Aqua Sport Bistro especially. The open concept kitchen/living room and outside eating area made our meals a delightful experience. We will definitely be back if we're lucky enough to get back of Playa Hermosa. Thanks for a wonderful experience - Pura Vida!!

That's the nice thing about Villa #2, if you want to dine-in the kitchen is fully equipped. There's also a Bar-B-Que grill and a patio table that seats 6 persons. Or if you like to eat out there are numerous restaurants across the street that serve delicious food and have wonderful views of the beach & sunsets. Hopefully when you decide to return to Playa Hermosa for a longer stay please visit Las Brisas Villa #2.

Great location
As I’m sitting on the couch sipping my coffee, listening to the monkeys hollow and the waves crashing.. I don’t want to leave. It’s been 9 wonderful days of sightseeing, swimming in the ocean, beautiful sunset and eating great seafood. The location of this condo is great, far away and quite, but yet close to everything. The condo is self is in good conditions. With some minor fixes it would be a five stars. Internet is not the best, couple of light bulbs are burned out, the dryer leave streaks on white clothes, air conditioner in the master bedroom is really loud, and rattled a lot makes it hard to sleep. Besides some of these minors things I would stay here again. Thanks Costa Rica for a great vacation.. Mia and family.

Yes Villa #2 at Las Brisas is close enough to hear the waves at the beach and the hollower monkeys are usually next door where you can see & hear them. Regarding the repairs that have now been taken care of and I thank you for mentioning them to me. We do have a property manager on site that will take care of repairs during your stay. I would like to welcome you and your family on your return trip to Playa Hermosa.

Great vacation spot!
Family of 5 spent 8 nights here after 2 nights of adventure at Hacienda Guachepelin. The villa was well appointed, very spacious and we enjoyed the views, pool, beach, Condovac and wonderful dining options. Location was great and took day trips to Playa Flamingo, Playa Coco and Llanos de Cortez waterfall south of Liberia. Wifi was an issue most days- also for neighbors but we (kids especially) would go to Condovac to get.

Nice property with some maintenance issues
The pros of our stay at Playa Hermosa vacation home: The home is very spacious and very convenient to Hermosa Beach. It was clean and well stocked. The condo community it is located in was gated with 24 hour security. Costa Rica is beautiful with LOTS to do. WIfi was great in the condo. The grocery store was convenient and restaurants around the area very good. The cons of out stay at Playa Hermosa vacation home: When we arrived there was no one there to let us in and show us around. We were informed that we would not be allowed to check in without signing documents and getting information from "Concita". The keys were left with the Guards at the gate and they did not speak English. The door lock did not work to the main door (sliding glass door) or upstairs sliding glass door. The second bathroom shower did not work. It only dripped. There was a kitchen cabinet that was not attached to the wall and dangerously sitting beside the sink. My son almost fell to the ground when leaning on it. We brought all of these issues to the attention of the owner and attempted to find someone associated with the condo community. We heard back from no one for 4 days. The day before we left, they attempted to fix the lock and attached the cabinet. The shower was never fixed. The lock still did not work, nor did the safe that we tried to use. We were told the safe did not work for a while. The AC unit in the kitchen did not work either. The resort that is available for use was difficult to find on our own. It is up the hill to the left, taking a shuttle. When walking there through the gates at the back of the condo, no one knew where to send us to get wristbands or that the condo was at all associated with the resort. We rented a car (highly recommended) and discovered SO many beautiful beaches and areas outside of Hermosa Beach. I would certainly visit Costa Rica again and imagine that because it was off season, the condo was not as well maintained and staff was not available.

Dear Heather, I'm happy to hear that you found Las Brisas Villa #2 to be spacious, convenient and well stocked. Although I'm sorry to hear you had difficulties not locating the property manager. I did speak with the property manager and she did mentioned she had an emergency and was at the hospital. But she did leave the keys with her helper and instructed her to hand over the keys to you. You did mentioned this to me in an email. On my Rental Agreement w/ Directions & Instructions that I give to all my Guests contains contact emails and telephone numbers with the property managers included. It states for the Guests to make a copy of the contract and to bring it along with them to Costa Rica as reference. It also includes on where and how to have access to the Condovac Resort next door. I have notified the property manager of the repairs and they are being repaired as of now. Thank you for your review as it will help me improve my place.

Wonderful condo. Lots of windows, clean inside and out. Took full advantage of amenities at Condovac next door. Roberto's right across the street serves killer seafood and so much. This property was clean, beautifully landscaped outside, and perfectly located. Indeed, it looked nicer than the pictures reflect. We debated renting other units with somewhat better views, though were very happy we didn’t have the steep hills to climb. From our patio/balcony you could hear monkeys as well as the ocean waves hitting the beach, which was about a one minute walk away. We also enjoyed having access to the amenities at the adjacent Condovac Resort. It gave our two college age children and their friends someplace to go, though we also enjoyed the adjacent complex swimming pool. Had some initial concern that one of the side sliding glass doors wouldn’t lock, though other owners I met at the pool indicated that was common for the complex. The fenced and gated nature of the property, with 24-hour security guard, allayed my concerns. Other than the hallway bathroom showerhead giving the kids some issues, everything else about the unit was great, including having wi-fi. As other reviewers have noted, the best seafood we had in Costa Rica was indeed just across the street and on the beach. Yves Malette with Costour provided our transportation needs to and from the airport as well as the Palo Verde Boat Tour, which I would recommend for 1st timers to Costa Rica. Fantastic!!!!
This property was immaculate. The maintenance staff was amazing and friendly. I would return to this condo again and again. Our vacation couldn't have been better.

Impressive
Went for spring break. Very close to the beach. Quiet, safe area with security gate with 24 hour manned security booth. Lots of restaurants within walking distance, but if you want to really explore you should rent a car. There is a small grocery store close to the villas and much larger American style supermarket about 10 km away in Playa Coco. Lots of opportunities for chaperoned tours, they tend to be very expensive in my opinion. Overall excellent place to visit and would definitely go back.

Very nice home on a great property.
Leticia was great to work with, very responsive and helpful. This property was extremely clean, beautiful, and perfectly located. The door locks didn't seem to function on main level. It was a bit unnerving for us but with 24/7 security and gated property, we had no problems whatsoever. A/C in every room. Great kitchen. Pool was awesome to soak in at the end of the day. Playa Hermosa is more on the quiet side, which was perfect for my family. Seafood restaurant across the street was delicious. Probably best food we had while in CR. Overall a great place to stay. It was a pleasure having you at Villa #2 and I did have the door lock on the main floor fixed. Yes, "Mi Casita de Mariscos" across the street is the best seafood restaurant in Playa Hermosa. Many people drive for many miles to enjoy Chef Marios' delicious plates.

Beautiful Villa next to the beach
The Villa has a lot of space and 3 bedrooms for at least 6 people. The Villa is in a very good condition and looks much better as on the pictures. The kitchen is completely equipped with absolute all you need. The common pool is huge and clean. The villa is inside a very quiet gated and 24hrs attended community. You will hear no traffic, only the sound of the pacific ocean. The property caretaker is easy to reach and reacts immediately. I can absolutely recommend this villa. At the beach you find several small bars and restaurants, where its nice and peaceful to sit outside in the evening. The Playa Hermosa beach is average, but there are a lot of other beaches not too far away.
