The airy living/dining room has French windows leading out to a balcony, which looks out over the Adriatic Sea. Inside the room has ancient stunning tiled floors and is comfortably furnished with a sofa, armchair, flatscreen TV plus a dining table and chairs. The separate kitchen is off the living room. With bright tiling and fittings, it is well-equipped with a cooker hob, oven, fridge/freezer and a Moka coffee machine. The back door in the kitchen leads to the terrace and garden, fitted with a table and chairs for meals al fresco.

Location
The apartment is in the famous coastal spa resort of Santa Cesarea Terme, with its thermal baths and fascinating caves. The Santa Cesarea spa is only a 3-minute walk from the house. While the Caicco bathing spot is just 5 minutes. Here swimmers can access the sea via stairs and rocks. There are also some lovely beaches nearby including Porto Miggiano Cove (5-minute drive) which has fine sand and crystal-clear sea.

Not to be missed is the city of Lecce (40 minutes drive), known as the “Florence of the South” and blessed with wonderful Baroque architecture as well as Roman ruins. It is a jewel of a city and well worth a visit. Not only for its long history but also for its excellent food and good shopping.

Santa Cesarea Terme has a wide range of restaurants and pizzerie serving delicious local cuisine. For self-catering, the twice-weekly market in Lecce is a treasure trove of the finest regional produce from fish, vegetables and fruit to olive oil and cheese. Alternatively, visit the smaller weekly markets in the towns nearby.

The closest airport is at Brindisi - 1 hour and 15 minutes away by car.
